When I first started vaping (with an ego) I thought wow, can not smoking really be this easy??!! I planned to gradually lower my nic and eventually stop after around 6 months. But then, I realized that lower nic wasn't cutting it, and also the ego wasn't cutting it either and even now I occasionally have various issues with my protanks (wicking, leaking, etc). And consequently I started smoking on occasion, so I realized that for me I need more power and the most flavor possible, something I'm still working on, coils etc, (I hate fiddly stuff). But I also realized that I smoked for so long that I figure if I'm going to eventually go to 0 nic there's no need to rush, and really I enjoy vaping and figure even if I eventually go to 0 nic and lessen my vaping I'd still like to have something around to vape on occasion if a cig urge strikes or just for relaxation, and it may as well be something really satisfying for me. Compared to what I spent on cigs every month, a $140-$200 REO is nothing!
Since I've found some flavors I love and now that I've been exploring these NET tobaccos I've learned more about tobacco in the last few weeks than I ever did in nearly a lifetime of smoking! For example perique is only grown on only a few mile stretch in St. James Parish, LA, the only place in the world.

I've been reading about the history of it, various ways tobacco is cured and how that affects the flavor, etc. I find stuff like that fascinating, I guess because I'm interested in ethnobotany anyway. And since I've also always been interested in cooking and fragrance the newer more complex vapes are really interesting also-to see how sophisticated it can get. One of these days I really want to start making various extractions and see what I come up with.
I used to think it was kinda weird when people said this, but I think that for me it is becoming more like a hobby like it does for some people. I still don't care for fiddling much with coils and so on, but if I want the best experience I'll have to do it and ultimately it'll be less work than putting up with the frustration of various tanks that I've dealt with, and cheaper also.
I hear ya on the breathing 100% pure air though. I also like the idea of not feeding an addiction, but for me I figure if vaping is my only addiction then I'm not doing terribly bad since I'm convinced it isn't terribly unhealthy and I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle in general otherwise-eat right, exercise, etc (well mostly, lol). I might give up vaping one day but I don't think it will be any time soon for me. I noticed that my recent cold was over in a matter of days! Normally they last two weeks
ok i'm babbling now ;p
Today at work I took a vape break and came back in and was talking to my coworker and he interrupted me saying "wow that smells great!" I asked him what and he said my breath smells like cookies, lol. I had just vaped
Southern Steam's Louisiana Diplomat (tobacco, watermelon, pecan) I'm not sure how he got cookies out of that one!
Has anyone gotten Southern's new flavor-the
Grand Canyon Cheesecake? "juicy blueberries, creamy cheesecake, smooth pie crust, and a pinch of coconut to top it all off." I think I'm gonna go for it
