Can anyone explain why i need SS mesh? Is it used as part of the wicking system or is it just an option? What does it do?

You don't, for an iGo-L you simply need some silica wick some wire and a screwdriver. Later if you want to get into Genesis atomizers you can start buying SS mesh and other things, start slow do lots of research mainly ohm's law and battery research you'll have alot more expierence under your belt before you jump into anything too quickly and get frustrated.

Ok so 1 ft. kanthal wire 32 gauge, 2-3mm silica wick, torch lighter, organic cotton balls, a screwdriver, pin or safety pin, drip tip , Igo L rda and youtube videos on wrapping coils. This is what im buying/procuring/doing if im missing anything please let me know. Thanks !

You can get 25ft of Kanthol for about 4 bucks not sure how much you're currently paying for that foot.

Resistance Wire
Look at the 32 gauge 25 foot spool in my link.

Torch lighter? Not needed right now, you only need to torch if you're buying SS mesh. Cotton balls you can give a try as a replacement for Silica see if you like it. You can torch the resistance wire with a lighter it's just thin wire.

Ok so i understand i can torch wire with bic lighter but what about silica? Also can anyone tell me if using a igo L with a silica wick will be similar in throat hit to boge cartos? I like the heat and punch cartos give. Is it similar or better? I know im not buying an Rsst yet but does SS Mesh give the best throat hit thats similar or better than a carto? I guess what i like is the heat/tinge that hits the back of your throat with my boge/kanger cartos on my tiny joy 510 even. This is really important to me as im only 68 days off analogs. Thank you.

I've heard stainless steel mesh gives the best flavor but I don't know. You will find you get greater TH from rebuildables than you do from carto tanks. The only thing to be aware of is after you set up your coil on the Igo-l, keep the air hole right by where your coil is inside for better vapor. I did have to slightly drill the hole bigger to get more vapor production from mine. Also, try to keep the airhole facing up when vaping it for better vapor and air flow.

Yea, I don't know why you would need all that. I have a nail clipper, drill bit that I use to wrap my coil on at a size I like, jeweler's screwdriver, wire, wick material, Bic lighter. Also a pair of needle nose plyers just to hold the drill bit with while I burn the wire. Simple and easy. Maybe some of that stuff is for genesis style rebuilds. I also just test my coil on my Provari when I'm done so I don't have a meter. It's never been a problem.
