I'm for sure team cheap I refuse to spend $100 on a rda and I wanted to know what the best RDA clones you have tried? I've been looking at the Velocity clone cause I really want the Velocity but I'm not paying $115 for it. So if you have tried it what do you think?
So... get the Velocity clone. Buy it, use it and abuse it. If it's as great a performer as it appears it might be... and the clone is well made, you're done.
If the performance is good, but the quality of materials and manufacture leave something to be desired... buy the authentic. It's what I do all the time... and once the authentic is in hand, I gift the clone away.

I do single coil builds and mouth to lung inhales. My Achilles (clone) is dedicated to those and has an ability I haven't seen in any other design so far. I put 70 drops in mine (20 drops = 1 ml) and it does not leak unless I hold it upside down. With so much liquid in the well that is not absorbed in wicking the wick stays fully saturated for long periods of time which is good for flavor and vape quality. I make 2.0 ohm coils and run them at 16-20 watts. I'm sure it can handle lower ohm coils and higher watts but I haven't tried it. I like my other atomizers but when I'm out and about and want long intervals between refills and no leaking the Achilles is what I'm carrying. Eventually I'll own a couple of them.

Edit, I also have a Tugboat v2 clone and like it (I'm at home and using it as I write) but if I could have only one atomizer there would be no contest. The Achilles would have to be the one.

With clones, what your buying is the quality control groups expertise for companies like Tobeco and Infinite. I have had pretty good luck with both these suppliers.
I really want the Velocity
If you can find a clone for the Velocity you might see if they are offered by Tobeco and Infinite or other quality suppliers.
One more suggestion, I tend to buy my clones from (mostly USA) suppliers that stand behind their product. If something goes wrong with the clone, you might want to make sure you can easily return it without major or no cost to you.

I can speak on behalf of the Tobeco Velocity clone. It is worth the $20 but it is not perfect. Luckily for Tobeco the atty is designed incredibly and even the worst clone factories would have difficulties messing it up too terribly.

It IS a little bit sloppy. The O rings on the base could be a little bit fatter as the top piece slips off just a bit too easily. Also, it can leak a tiny bit of juice at the base because of this.

The metal seems ok but I don't believe it's of the same quality as the original. I actually dropped my top cap, it dented, and I had to convince it to be round again. Luckily there are no blemishes to show for that near tragedy.

The grub screws have been reported shipping to people stripped (mine was fine), though they do include spares. The allen key they include is just a bit too small so you have to find one a little bit fatter or you will risk buttering up the end of your screws.

With all that said, it functions more than just fine and it will be the first atty I have liked so much that I have ordered a second.

I just got my Mutation 4 clone last night and played with it. Very good machining and the vape is tasty and airy (depending on how to set it). Compare to veritus, the taste is 90% close but one big advantage which is no hot legs. I like my veritus but due to the hot legs i had to changed the cotton very often (within a few hours if i chain vape). But for Mutation 4, i dun have this problem and i can vape for hours without worrying of burn cotton.

But for this clone, it had a con. The pole's hole are drill too big and when i use 28 kanthal, the wires tent to shift to the side of the hole. (worried that the wire might cut by the sharp screw's threads.)

Overall, i give 90% satisfaction to this clone.

Most clones are good. Good RDAS usually have good clones. But if the atty sucks so will the clone. Stay away from anything made by Bronto. I checked out a dark horse rda that no pieces actually separated. It would be 100% impossible to build in, in the first place because it is literally one piece of metal. No o rings to seal the deck or anything. Literally cannot separate it from the deck. Just a heads up

I'd like to see that.^ haha...how on earth did that happen?
It's just made as one piece. Deck, body, and drip tip, all one piece. And they call their attys "black horse, plumeveilla, mutilator, turboed, doggie " they also sell for like 60$ now granted some did come apart but even the spelling on the box is a give away that it's s waste of money
