Best/Safest o-ring materials?

I never realized there were so many o-ring materials until I started looking to replace the sloppy fitting o-rings in my leaky AGR tank. Anyone know which materials are safe, wont affect juice flavors and wont be affected by certain juices?

I'd think FDA approved would be best.

My best guess for chemical and heat resistance would be silicone o-rings and most are FDA approved - even commercial ones. In a pinch anything will do, but generally speaking they will fail sooner.
