Drop your 1.5 ohm occ in a shot of pga. Rinse out your tank and base in warm tap water, dry and install your new .5 ohm occ, fill the tank, and away you go.
The coils can't really be cleaned but you can try the old "soak it in vodka for a day" trick. Once it has soaked take it out and let it dry on a paper towel.
vodka or everclear = pga (pure grain alcohol).
I've also used isopropyl 91% that also works well. But be careful to get all of the iso dried out. Iso is Poisionous.
I clean my STM by using hot water and some dish soap to break up the VG, PG and flavorings. A soak for an hour or 2 maybe. Blow dry. Pat with paper towel.
I take out the coil, turn on a stream of hot water and rinse the tank and base in the stream, shake out the water from the tank, twist up a paper towel and wipe out the inside of the tank air flow tube real good, blow water out of the base and again with the twisted end of a paper towel wipe out the inside of the base. I don't wipe the glass down, a minuscule amount of water doesn't hurt a thing. That gets the old juice out just fine. Pop in a new coil, prime with a few drops in the top of the coil and the wick holes (a drop or two), fill the tank, screw the base on and good to go. About a five minute affair. Take a few unfired puffs and let sit upright a few minutes to saturate the wick. Vape at lower power until you get good vapor and then set as you wish.
