I started aerosolizing two months ago, and after trying a few juices, bought an 8oz bottle of stuff from Mt Baker Vapor. It seemed like an okay deal for $40. However, since the olfactory glands adjust to whatever flavor you choose, it quickly became obvious that flavorless eliquid is the only practical thing to get. If you can't taste it, why pay more for flavor? I went to Mt Baker Vapor to look at flavorless stuff, but their pricing makes no sense. It's $8 for an 8oz of unflavored or $30 with any level of nicotine (3mg-36mg).

I spoke to a store clerk at local vape store, and he recommended nudenictoine. I've just ordered a 250ml bottle with 6mg nic in a 50/50 solvent base without flavoring for $13. That's $17 cheaper than Mt. Baker Vapor.

I know the cheapest way to do this is DIY, but at $13 a month for my eliquid supply, that seems reasonable. That way I don't need to deal with long term storage or potential mixing hazards.

As there are people on here with much more experience, what do you think is the best source for flavorless eliquid?

to ecf aerosolizer. So glad you are here. I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Sorry I can't because I take the very cheapest way out by making my own. You would not believe how easy it is to do. I'm proof of that.

I just made 350ml of unflavored 24mg nic and it was around $6 dollars maybe if that much. I use a lot of unflavored and add flavoring to some of it. Very easy to do. But like I said, I'm sure someone will have some suggestions for you. That is what makes ecf such a wonderful place. Good luck to you and happy vaping.

wizard labs and nude nic are the two other ones Ive heard the most about

good choice and welcome

...to save you even more money, you could buy the higher concertrated nic base and dilute it down with VG/PG

Thanks for the reply Rat2chat2. How are you adding nicotine? My understanding is that discussing sources for pure nicotine is against the TOS, although it was here that I read about a supplier in Korea. I checked their pricing, but shipping is a minimum of $20. The issue for me with that route is quantity and storage. I've looked on Amazon, and they have PG and VG for $13 or so, for 32oz (946ml). That's 4 months worth of supply for me. Again, long term storage becomes an issue. From reading the info on nudenicotine, they say that nicotine degrades at room temperature, and much faster in VG than PG. They recommend putting nicotine into a PG base and storing it in a freezer.

I'd love to hear more about what you're doing and your experience. :)

Thanks for the link. I read the comments section and he says he orders supplies from both Wizard Labs and Freedom Vapes. It looks like Wizard Labs is a couple dollars cheaper than nudenicotine: $30 for 250ml of 100mg nic mix vs $33

That works out cheap enough compared to small quantities of pure nicotine, and you avoid the extreme hazards. At the Korean site, it's $25 for 30ml of pure nic which is just under 30,000mg of nicotine. A 250ml 100mg nic mix is just under 25,000mg nicotine.

I'll order some from Wizard Labs as well and compare. The guy at the "vape" store said he liked nudenicotine best, saying it didn't have a pepper taste, but reading the Wizard Lab site info, it sounds like their nicotine is also super high quality.

The problem for me at the moment is storage. I have a mini fridge with a crap freezer, and we have shared kitchens, so obviously I would not store even heavily diluted nicotine where others have access.

Pure nicotine, defined as 90% (900mg/ml) or stronger, yes. But you don't need "pure" nicotine for DIY, by any means. You can just pick up like a liter of, say, 10% solution (100mg/ml) in a PG base for around $50, and it will make an awful lot* of 6mg e-liquid all told, when you dilute it with straight PG/VG which can be had for pennies on the dollar.

*...by "an awful lot" I'm talking roughly 16 liters, or 16,000ml, or well over a thousand 15ml bottles. Should be enough to last you a good long while.

I used to get my unflavored juice at DIY One Stop before I realized that I could get the same mg/ml (60mg) in the same size cheaper at MyFreedomSmokes which is where I buy all my hardware. It's easy if you're not planning to flavor the liquid. Then just get some extra PG and/or VG to dilute it down to the strength you want to vape. But honestly if you're going to buy juice like this you might as well throw in some concentrated flavors to play with... DIY sells Flavor Apprentice for $1.50 or so for 6ml, so you can easily get 5-10 flavors dirt cheap to experiment with

That is exactly what I do. When I find it on sale, I stock up and freeze in amber glass bottles. The pg and vg just seems more economical to buy in the gallon size. $60 for a gallon of pg and a gallon of vg at Essential Depot. It goes quicker than you think but I still think it would have a very good shelf life if kept in a cool dark place. It will never stay around over 2 years with me. I have everything I need now vapingwise. I just try to see how much I can save now. As far as flavorings, I now only use Vaping Zone Gourmet or Super Concentrated flavorings. Cost a little more but you use drops compared to mls in a recipe and I find it more economical. I have been very pleased with the 5 or 6 I buy from them regularly.

Results update:

On the mix: I really like 50/50 PG/VG mix. There is less vapor, and it is harder to inhale, but it doesn't make your lungs too wet (like higher VG).

On flavorless: I really like "flavorless". Aside from being way cheaper, I also simply enjoy it more.

On vendors: After trying both nude nicotine and wizard labs, I'll place future orders with wizard labs. I prefer the taste of their product (nicotine flavor seems different), their turnaround is MUCH faster, and they are a bit cheaper.
