I quit cigs over 3 months ago with a Halo Triton. I'm not sold on Halo gear but don't have experience with anything else. I want to get my stepdaughter a good starter kit for Christmas, but don't want to spend too much in case she won't stick with it. I'm thinking "ego" based something, but am still a bit confused about what works with what and wanna make sure it's easy for her to get gear instead of getting frustrated and buying smokes. All advice welcome

Here is my recommendation

$9.27 EGO-EVOD 2-in-1 USB Rechargeable 900mAh Electronic Cigarettes Set - red / 2.6

Free shipping for over $15 - takes about 2 weeks to get to South Dakota by USPS (order soon due to xmas overload at post office

I have ordered almost all of my current equipment from them and have no issues with any of it

They also have other stuff that is fun - indoor rc helicoptors, gag gifts, great ceramic blade kitchen knives way cheaper than you get here

I got myself a Kanger EVOD kit for myself a while ago, 2 batteries, two clearomizers, usb cable, wall charger adapter. It's a nice setup. Thinking of buying one as a gift for a friend. The ego-type setups allow a lot of mixing and matching of components. There are a lot of ego-type starter kits out there- it seems wise(according to what I've heard) to get a brand with a good rep: Joye, Kanger, Smoktech, Vision - especially to find a safe, reliable kind of battery. One probably wouldn't need huge batteries to start with, especially with at least one backup. Since I'm going to be price hunting myself, I'll try to post a good deal or two here. I think there must be at least a couple of threads here about decent starter kits here somewhere.

It's really none of my business and I probably shouldn't even say anything as you can do whatever but am I the only one that would be slightly insulted if I got a gift like this? It would be different if she's showing an interest.
Yeah, the circumstances can make a huge difference in whether this is a good idea.

Also: was a budget mentioned?

And I don't wanna spend too much, because I don't know how serious she is about quoting smoking.

Well, thats sort of a budget...

I saw on vape dojo a very simple starter kit, its about 15 beans...bleh it says sold out, now that I look...

Katana Kit

I got their Kanger mini protank II setup and I really like it, but im new to vaping and easily amused so my experience is quite limited. It does work very well, tho'. Lots of vapor and no leaks other than when I screwed up and unscrewed the bottom of my tank and got a few drips of Lemon Loves Cake on me...ew.

My starter kit was about $60, free shipping too - two tanks, two 650mh batteries, and they are variable voltage on top of that.

What might get her interested is some decent juices, what comes to mind is an Alice in Vapeland sample (5 3ml bottles) pack maybe? Thats about 15 bucks shipped and if picked up now, will have time to steep, too.

My recommendation is to get an Ego twist or a Spinner around 1100mah capacity(so you can adjust the voltage to the coil and the juice for taste) and a Evod atomizer along with an inexpensive plug in USB type charger. This setup is inexpensive and IMHO very worthy of a beginning vaper and beyond. It performs very well, is virtually trouble free and has a short learning curve . The cost is minimal and I have friends who started and still use the setup to this day (they just want consistent vaping without any hassle and minimal involvement).

Check out the Innokin MVP 2 on 101vapes..... comes with everything you need to get started (except for juice) for about $40.... There are many members here that use it so read some reviews and then get out your credit card......

If you're unsure how she'll take to vaping and want something really inexpensive to try, Virgin Vapors has a starter kit for $14.99. It includes an 1100 mAh eGo battery, a CE4 clearomizer, a USB charger and a free 4 mL bottle of e-liquid of your choice. Easy Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit

I think it would be great for someone who just wants to test the waters. It's enough to give her a couple of days of vaping to see if it's something she would be interested in for very little money.

Not a good xmas present, if she wants to quit smoking she needs to do it herself.

I would let her use one of your tritons for a day or 2, If she likes it and stays off analogs for a couple days because of it, then you can sya, would you like a triton starter kit for xmas. or she may like it and buy herself the kit, then your xmas present can be some juices from halo, alice, some coil heads or extra parts for the triton kit, maybe a VV battery.

I have not used any gear but halo so far, but I am sold on it, they sell everything under 1 roof a new vaper would need and it is quality stuff.

Bet ya a bottle of voodoo that if you let her use yours she will hate analogs

Is it similar to gifting a gym membership for someone who is overweight?
Like it or not, we are addicts. And we only change our path when we decide to.

Having said that, I hope she does get off the analogs.

(On the other hand, I've been vaping about 6 weeks, and I haven't had a wish list this long since I was 13...)
