...Guess this says a lot about Me!!! :) LUV the stuff!
mine is from Gawith Hoggarths range of tobaccos as are many other extracts.
Used a a condiment it can be very nice, but i overdid the amount of extract % on many at the beginning and maxed out a little too much on it.:w00t:
my extraction technique is rough and ready , simmer in pg and leave to mature. filtration..a teabag:shock:
The latakia extract is the strongest of the lot, pine needles and creosoteo_O

There is nothing wrong with a well made Latakia or for that matter or some "real" St. James Parish Perique for an enjoyable evening vape!

my perique is also a Gawith Hoggarth , very nice. my first perique was a house of liquids net , my extraction tastes slightly more fruity.

:D

I have tried Perique all by itself, and it ranks among the top for flavor. The good part is, only 4% will give you a real flavorful vape. Sometimes I add 1-2% Virginia as an enhancement. Most people do it the other way - More Virginia and less Perique.

When you say "real" are you referring to RBFS - St. James Parish or do you mean perique grown in SJP?

I'm about out of St. James Parish and am getting worried, it's been my goto NET and I have been unable to replicate it.

I used to refer to vendor made liquids such as RBFS St.James Parish, but now I enjoy, much more, the extracts I have made from the tobacco itself on the market.

Perique for an enjoyable evening vape!

While I don't really care for a pure or heavy Perique blend for just casual vaping, I think it is one of the best after (big) dinner vapes I have found. The way the fruity sourness blends on the palette allows the true tobacco(ness) of the extract to come out. Leaving a very slight bitterness one enjoys from a good after dinner smoke. For me it's fantastic.

Ive never tried a diy tobacco extract but Im interested in trying. I really enjoyed the european line of El toro puros untill they stopped supplying it to US distributors.
I would like to try and extract some cuban cigar like tobacco.

What would be the best method for this and what would be a good tobacco to use?

Check out the extraction threads, everything is there. Most beginners have better luck with pipe tobaccos. Cigars are more challenging to do well.

I can vape Perique not only after dinner, but after breakfast and lunch. In fact I can vape it all day long :thumb:

Same, been vaping it three days straight. I have some balkan I made about a year ago but I got burned out on it. Need to start extracting again but so far I have only really liked Latakia, Balkan and Perique. I don't know what to try next.

I figured as much, just that it carries the SJP name.

Where do you get your genuine perique tobacco?

I have had good success with DIY extractions from the following two Perique tobaccos ordered from smokingpipes.com. They are found under the "tobacco heading" "bulk" tobaccos.
one is McClelland blending Perique and the other was Cornell & Diehl long cut Perique.
very fine vapes! The longer the steep the better they got! Wishing you good luck with these! :smokie:

Boomerdude sent me some Louisiana Red that's just fantastic. I'll be extracting more of that one.

although I acquired a sensitivity over the years to propylene glycol in extractions, I have really enjoyed Boomerdude's extractions sent to me by MrMann many moons back.

I was really happy with this one: Peter Stokkebye 84 Turkish - PipesandCigars.com
It's close to Clay's Sun Cured Turkish but, having NET.com's going now it's got a little "something" in it that makes it special.

I really like PS 84 but sometimes I was wanting something more Turkish forward, so I have recently made extractions of two of P&C's blending tobaccos.

Izmir fine cut Blending - Izmir Fine Cut - Pipes and Cigars

and

Smyrna Blending - Smyrna - Pipes and Cigars

My plan is to mix these with the PS 84, but the Smyrna is really good by itself.
The Izmir has a more dry and musty flavor, so will work better in a mix.
It's been a couple of years since I had NET.com's Sun Cured, but either of these will tick that box.
