I usually don't like recommending gear to newbies because there are so many choices available plus what works for one person may not be the best for another.

If you want to create as much of a vapor cloud as smoking provided then you do not need a very powerful device (20 - 30 watts).
On the other hand if you are desiring lots of vapor and larger clouds then you will need a more powerful unit (30 watts and above).

Most brands produce mods of various power ranges.

Look around at the brands mentioned by @edyle in the post above and you will find something that you feel will fit the amount of vapor production that you desire. Also, you can go watch youboob videos as there are usually videos dealing with almost any type and piece of gear on the market.

To get started maybe I would like to know what are the more reliable brands out there.. thanx..
Thank you. That's helpful. Most people, me included, will tell you what they use today, having learned from experience what doesn't work very well.

For a "mod", essentially a battery with controls, the ismoka/eleaf istick 30 watt is simple, and costs less than your weekly smoking budget. You need to put something on it to hold and vaporize e-juice. I suggest the eleaf GS-Tank, or the GS-Air M.
These can be found in the $10 to $12 range. They are simple and trouble free, and provide good flavor and vapor.
