I was hoping to get some input on which vg you pro's are using. The brand of my vg is essential depot and I'm getting an odd sweetness from it i don't care for. I mix at 35/65 pg vg and the odd taste is there even when vaped alone without flavor. I don't like verry sweet juice I'm more into the flavors and that strange sweetness takes from the flavor. I usually use about 15 to 20 % flavoring total and a don't believe i need to go higher to cover odd taste. Any suggestions are welcome.

To me VG is very sweet tasting, are you sure none of your flavorings are contributing more sweetness.

I use 4.25% to a maximum of 7.5% flavorings, maybe reduce yours by at least half & give it a try.

USP grade vegetable glycerin is all the same. There's no difference between one brand and the next. If the label says USP 99.5% Anhydrous, it's the same as the stuff I use. And yes, it does have a naturally sweet flavor.

Hmm... if you don't like the natural sweetness of VG, maybe some sour or tart flavoring to cut it with? If you are using flavors that are already pretty sweet, maybe add LESS flavoring, and more PG, and see how you do? That said, if you are looking to remove some sweetness, if using tart or bitter flavors you may actually want *more* flavoring to offset some of the sweetness. I think you will have to do some experimenting, but I'm fairly certain you'll be able to find something that will work for you...

Best of luck!

Not a pro, but I like Wizard Lab's gal size along with flavors to make the $65 free shipping deal. Might want to get the 120ml. to test.

I'm not a "pro" at DIY either, but I'll add my 2 cents.

I bought the 120mL size of VG from Wizard Labs when I started DIY. It's good VG, IMO. I also bought my initial 25 flavorings from them then, too, to see if I was even going to like DIY.

But, Bulk Apothecary online is the only place I regularly buy VG now by the gallon jug...for nearly 2 years. It's always fresh, clear, and tasteless except for the same mild sweetness all VG has. In comparing the top 3 recommended places for VG & PG, when you compare total price (incl. S/H), BA usually always beats the other 2. They run fairly frequent sales, too, which makes it an even better deal then. Costs me less than from Essential Depot, even though I'm located in FL and so are they...so you'd think S/H would be less, but it isn't.
