Me...I start with 6W...then slowly move up to 9W-10W...(I'm a Tootle Puffer)...

Belh...are you talkin' about the original "Cubis"...or the later released "Cubis-Pro"?...

I had frequent flooding hassles with the Cubis...but the Cubis-Pro continues to give me a QUITE satisfying vape...

The 'Burgh, PA.
Earlier this week on ECF I stumbled across a thread (now Closed) discussing the Cubis Pro's flooding/gurgling hassles...

A number of posters said that when it starts to gurgle they just hold it upside down and hold the fire button a couple of times...until a stream of vapor starts coming out of the drip-tip...

Seems to be working pretty good...for me...(so far)...

(Have to wonder whether...with the tank upside down => the wick is above the level of the ejuice => it dries somewhat???)

Spinfuel suggested an alternate way to prime the Cubis Pro's coil...and it has worked pretty good (for me)...

Although the Cubis Pro Manual suggests dripping a few drop of e-liquid into the coil head, while avoiding the center hole in the coil head, we suggest NOT doing that. Just fill the tank (through the removable top cap), leave the coil head dry, and do the following:

  1. Take 3 or 4 strong pulls on the drip tip to bring ejuice into the coil head
  2. Blow through the drip tip 3 or 4 times to force out any excess ejuice.
  3. Let sit 10 minutes, minimum.
  4. Vape slowly, at less wattage, until you know if the coil head will begin to gurgle or spit.
  5. Once you’re confident, proceed to find your sweet spot in wattage or temperature, and vape normally.

I love this method. I mostly use the AIO D22 XL which doesn't have variable voltage so I mostly do steps 1 & 3. But it is very nice not having a BF coil gurgle all the time.

Turn the battery off before you start -- if you accidentally apply heat before it's primed, you'll burn the cotton & spend several minutes coughing. Then suck hard 2 or 3 times, let it sit for a few minutes and vape. :)

do you have the airflow opened or closed ?
However I was vaping -- I don't change anything. You just need to get a little liquid in there and give it a little time to soak all the way through the cotton. It doesn't take 3 or 4 drops down the center to do that which is why all the excess gurgles.

The only time I've disliked this method is when I wasn't thinking and accidentally hit the power button. That's why I recommend turning the battery off first.
