I have a copper Vanilla clone and use an Igo W with a copper Cap It All top cap. The Cap It All quickly gets a nice dark patina on it but the mod stays as shiny as the day I got it. To keep it looking consistent I have to polish the Cap. I'd rather remove the clear coat from the mod and allow the natural patina to cover both the mod and cap.

What is the safest and easiest method for removing the clear coat?...and how can I be sure it is completely removed?

I've read that acetone and lacquer thinner can be used.

I have a few aerosol cans of brake cleaner. Can I just blast the mod with that and wipe it off?

my Vanilla looked shini new for about a month but not now it's pretty dark until i clean it with Nevr-Dull then all i do is spray some ISO on a cleaning cloth and go over it........after several sessions of this it started to go dark if handled it for about a week without cleaning, maybe i wore the coating off.
