I've been using an Igo and phoenix dripping rba with a cotton wick, the problem is after using a strong flavor and vaping the cotton to the point if you don't add more juice it will give a burnt taste, there is still a residual flavor from whatever you vaped before. Unflavored doesn't do much to get rid of it. Think a SS wick would be any better? What about those disposable dripping atomizers?

I use a Phoenix with a vertical ss mesh wick. I make it so I can pull the wick out so I can clean it if a flavor overwhelms itself with a strong flavor. Then I use PG and burn if off with a lighter once to twice, put it back in and vape away.

Also, I when I make the wick I make a long one, 2-3 inches by about 1 inch, roll it, oxidize it, then i cut it into equal lengths 3/8" to 1/2" oxidize the ends of each, then I have several on hand and they are the same thickness so you can easily switch them out when needed. I have 2 Phoenix's running and eight wicks that can be interchanged.

This seems to work very well for me and are completely rebuildable. So you can make new wicks or coils at any time easily.

How do you arrange a vertical wick on a phoenix? I thought they were horizontal. Vapemail's going to drop one in my hands tomorrow; I did a good bit of reading about them but have not come across anything like you're describing.
(Sorry if I'm dragging this one OT)

Several weeks back digitalciggz ran a sale on 5-packs of 510SR's for $11. I bought one pack and am starting to wish I had bought five more. :( I got the impression that it wasn't the first time they'd had that sale, and it probably won't be the last. (Someone reposted the sale from VaporJoes blog)

I wrap the coil around the wick, 4/5 wrap 30ga kanthal then place ino the Phoenix. I attach one lead to each post, 1 hole is slightly higher for the top, pull Them through the holes arrange the coil and wick in place, tighten, and cut excess wires. I pull the wick and heat the coils to bright red a few times, this strengthens the coil, slide the wick in. Then I used a multi meter to test the resistance. Usually comes out to 1 ohm. Fill well with juice and vape on.

I have a couple of those and I don't really like them for quick testing. If I don't let the juice soak in enough it tastes burnt. Those have the inside that looks like a little clump of steel wool. The bridgeless one is better IMO or the one that looks like it has a little smokestack in the center (I don't remember what it's called).

FWIW, Vapor Joe, has posted a deal on 510 atomizers:
http://.........blogspot.com/2013/03/sizzle-5-pack-joyetech-510-atomizers-995.html

I bought a pack of these last time they were on sale and wish I had bought two. That said, I prefer the Phoenix for testing.
As I've said before, take my opinion with a big spoonful of salt; I'm still new to vaping and my choices and opinions may not work for you...

I got this SR510 (Cisco Spec) 2.5ohm Bridgeless Atomizer - Avid Vaper
Depending on what device you're using, you may want to get a different resistance. I really like it. CISCOS are my favorite attys. The Joytechs are ok, about if you're able to get the 5 for $12, it's definitely worth it.
My friend says she's going to get the HH357 for me for my birthday which is next month. Been wanting it for a while, it's just so pricey for a little atty.

I have the Cisco Spec LR and the HH.357 both from Avid. The HH.357 is in a different league.
