Well, if you go with ekowool remember it is sized differently. 1.5mm ekowool is about the size of 3mm silica wick. Both will work, and its really what you like will be best. Some people like silica, some like the ekowool. Personally, i recently started using cotton, and i love it. The easiest way to set up the coils when first starting is to use ready wire. It is already attached nr / resistance wire. - Ready Wire for Coils- Longer Length

I use 2 mm ekowool or 3 mm silica.

For the actual coils, I have been using the ready wire from Stormy's Vapor Cellar and Mad Vapes. Personally, it is much easier this way. My Ithaka is firing so well on my Vamo, I really don't see any reason to go lower than 1.5 ohms.

I know people have vids with the twisting method, but I just could not get my homemade NR leads small enough to fit in the grooves on the Ithaka.

I bought some pre-made myself too and they are working great. I've tried single and double coils and both vape perfectly.

Once I run out of the pre-made, I'm gonna have a try at ekowool and cotton - this is what I normally use in my KFL, aga etc.

At the moment I use a single coil with 50/50 juices and a double coil with higher PG mixes, seems to work well for me.

I use cotton cheesecloth wicks in my Ithaka, as I do with my Penelopes, Kanger T3s, Vivi Novas, and ProTanks. I find that 45-thread wicks work a treat; duals for the Ithaka and singles for the Penelopes. I prefer the taste (or should I say, non-taste) and transparency of cotton wicks, and cheesecloth works very well for long-run wicks like the Ithakas and Penelopes. For things like the Kayfun Lite, plain cotton ball wicks work excellently and are easy to replace inside an existing coil.
