I use the same mechanical mods every day. Three of 'em, all clones. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. The M16 locking ring is stuck in the open position. It works fine and hits hard, but I can't carry it in my pocket safely. The Atomo is sleek and shiny, but the diameter is 21.8mm instead of 22 like every topper I own, and constantly having to adjust the 510 pin is annoying. The Astro, which is quite lovely and versatile, has the worst voltage drop of the lot; and heats up if I try to use a topper with less than 0.5 ohms resistance.
None of these problems are so bad that I need to justify spending money I don't have to replace them, but sometimes I just look at them with contempt.

Yeah, I have a few problems with my M16 too. One time I thought I had it locked, and it wasn't and it was autofiring in the car, when I got back in from taking photographs. Scary. Otherwise I really like it. My Panzer Black Hawk got stuck in the open position, and I never did manage to get it unstuck, but the base for the M16 fits on the panzer, so sometimes I use that.

Now, I'm picturing you with a fully automatic rifle spraying bullets everywhere.

My Copper Overdose is heavy enough it must be locker when set down. I got spoiled by the stiff springs in the K100, and almost had a meltdown due to that...
