So how was the 7075 to work with compared to your usual 6160 (I assume)?
I still have a billet of 7068 if you want a challenge. I was going to use it but it is too narrow for me. Looks like 2.5" rod would work fine for your mod though.
Yep CH, the 7068 would be pretty awesome for the CC mod. ;) In fact I thought about seeing if you had any more laying around when CC and I were discussing using 7075 :D

Hey, Tom! The 7075 was a bit more time consuming, but not horrible. The 6061 that I normally use is definitely easier on the tooling...
Since we both have the exact same mill,.... what are your thoughts on doing the 7068 on it? I've never messed with it before, but I would imagine it's really hard. What was it, like 80% the hardness of Ti???

Don't forget about the UK, Rudy!!! :thumb:

We'll have 2 going to Norway, and one to Canada before too much longer, as well.....

You need a representative from Brooklyn for a true international picture CC

you have such a beautiful collection. do you plan on engraving this too?

Not sure yet... still marvelling on the quality of the build... but when my Brass version arrives in December I may just get my engraver to do something with one of them... :p

I haven't worked with the 7068 but I may be soon. Checking pricing, waiting on an answer from Kaiser/Castle as to pricing. TBev had mentioned there was very little difference in machining it vs 6160 and mentioned it was nothing like titanium. I have 2 TMods made of 7068 and as I recall nautilus has one from the last billet I sent Tom. I believe Nautilus can also vouch for its strength. IMO to you the biggest difference would be in the final finishing but I believe the 7068 or to a lesser extent the 7075 would make your mod much more able to tolerate day to day abuse while others have complained about cerakote issues. I will always buy the stronger metal. Both of my 7068 TMods look like brand new. I would imagine yours would as well. I'm very interested.

And BTW: If the 7068 thing works out charge me for 2 of them and send the second one to Turbocad on me. My billet is 2-1/2 x 12" long I'm sure there will be plenty for 3 if you want to keep one for yourself.
