I've been lurking on and off for the better part of the last year, quietly oohing and aahing over every new pic. Beauties, all! Finally, I'm ready to pull the trigger; further resistance is futile. :)
But, which to get?
What are the pros and cons to each of the aluminums and to the ss?
TIA!

Order of conductivity for the metals Corey make his mods out of
(most conductive being first):

1. Copper
2. Aluminum
3. Brass
4. 316 Stainless Steel

Conductive Materials or Metal Conductivity - TIBTECH innovations -

In terms of weight
heaviest being first:

1. Copper
2. Brass
3. SS
4. Aluminum

In terms of hardness
(more resilient to dings or scratches)
Hardest being first:

1. 316 SS

In terms of oxidation (tarnishing)
(first being more prone to tarnish)

2. Brass
3. Aluminum
4. 316 SS

So hopefully some of this will help in your decision making :D

Simple answer is just to get one of each :headbang:

@Rayonati Sloth and @jwat82, thanks for the input. Somehow I knew I'd get mostly pros! All good things to consider.

@Rossum, I'd look pretty funny with a mod in my shirt pocket. Actually, I'd look pretty funny with a shirt pocket (unless it was on the side of a very long shirt) :). All of my mods leave the house, else they'd get jealous. They ride in a purse, or in a cup holder. Weight is a consideration, though -- and I never remember that until after I buy something!

Good Saturday morning CC peeps. 7075 is prepped for a grueling day of yard work. I had a bunch of tree work done this week and opted to do the cleanup myself to save some bucks (stupid, in hindsight). So I have about eleventy tons of limbs and branches to cut up, move, and burn. The pile in the pic is one of many. *sigh*

But, I know my CC mods are always up for the task. Me? That's another story. Supposed to be 95 here today with humidity to match.

Yeah, but I have to get it all in one place before commencing with the arson. My wife wouldn't be too thrilled with numerous large areas of scorched earth on our property.

Get some beer. Invite some friends over and disguise it as a bonfire party...

She'll never notice....

^this. It's a thing up here to do this with woodstacking parties in the fall. Get everyone drunk and feed them and they'll stack your wood for you (or in this case, burn your fallen trees)

Picked up a 3-pack of Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine at Napa today in anticipation of "the Event". Think it was $6 or so.
Oh yeah!

Guys - what should I be picking up for my CC beaut? What's this gold ox-it thinger you guys speak of?
