I certainly haven't eliminated them, but cutting back (and keeping the portion sizes reasonable when I do have them) made a big difference to me as well.
Yeah I've found with eating more raw and nutritious food I don't need to eat as much also. I've noticed I don't get cravings like I would after eating empty carbs or sugar. It is really making a difference! Feeling good and losing weight is practically effortless!
