I saw mentioned in another thread that Bickford's sells propylene glycol on their website, so I took a look, and sure enough they do, @ 17.95 for 32 ounces plus shipping.

I was thinking about putting in a flavor order, and thought it would be convenient to order PG at the same time. I'd assume it would be of vaping quality since the water-based flavors are, but also thought it might be best to check in to see if anyone had experience with it first.

Has anyone ordered the PG from Bickford's, and if so could you confirm that it is USP grade, and provide any other feedback? Does the price seem reasonable?

Thanks!
Tim

Okay, I did get a reply back from Bickford's, and they confirmed that their PG is both food grade and USP. They also attached a Certificate of Analysis that listed it as Kosher.

I'd also sent a similar inquiry to Lorann's regarding the glycerine that they sell on their web site, and for anyone that might be wondering, they report that it is 97.7% pure vegetable glycerine and USP grade.

Hope this helps someone else!

For me, the best place to get USP Grade PG is from RiteAid. I gave the pharmacy a call, ordered PG and it was there in 2 days. No shipping needed. 16oz, 473mL, $12.55 AFTER taxes here in North Carolina. Found VG at Whole Foods. Heritage Vegetable Glycerin, 4oz, 120mL, $5.66. It says contains: USP Grade Pure Vegetable Glycerin, so I would assume its 100% unless someone replies to my thread. Don't know just yet for certain.

If you to to Google and search for Food Grade Glycol. Look for QualiChem Technologies. They will give you 5% off if you enter "ECIG". Shipping is free. Same day if by 2pm EST. They have certificate of analysis on the site. You can search for the product on ebay as well.

According to this post, one forum member ordered from Qualichem and received technical grade, which is not intended to be ingested:

And another here:

However, further down in the thread the second member said that he notified the seller, who promised to replace it:

I notified the seller and explained that his ad said food grade, yet what I received was Technical grade and had a plethora of warnings. he told me to flush it down the toilet and that he would send me the correct bottle on Monday. good fella so far.

So while in the latter case the seller seemed to make it right, I personally don't think I'd be comfortable ordering from them.

zajacjj, are you by any chance affiliated with Qualichem? You seem to have only have 3 posts at this point, and every single one is a plug for this company...

Food Grade Propylene Glycol Kosher 99.9%

free shiping!

umm....

"This product is 99.9% Propylene Glycol that has repackaged into a smaller container from a larger Propylene Glycol USP container. Although, the product has been packaged in a new, clean unused container, it should not be used in applications that require FDA and/or USP requirements."

"The current container was not decontaminated or sterilized prior to repacking. Please take this into consideration when using the product."
