Big Buddha kayfun-ish dual-coil RBA, original EHPro product - Looks pretty legit.

I drilled out the air holes on the BB today. Super fast, I also just removed the air flow screws. I'm much happier with the flow. Not as good as my tugboat clone but is on par with my panzer rda. (I had to buy it, it matched the mod). Btw the panzer drip tip is way better on the BB.

I think once i get the air holes drilled out,i should like it alot more, that and getting my wicking a bit better. The draw is just a little too tight right now with the afc screws all the way out,so drilling those deck holes should take of that, and i am getting occasional dry hits, but i think that all comes down to my wicks,so should be a couple easy fixes.

I re-wicked my Big Buddha and thought I take a few pics to show what works well for me.

Coils are 2.2mm ID, 12 wraps of 28ga, mounted at an angle to face the wells. Build reads exactly 1.0Ω on my Cloupor T5

Wicked fully with CVS Organic Cotton Balls:

wicks.jpg

Put the tails up, installed chimney bottom, then I cut the wicks flush with the top of the barrel.

wickscut.jpg

I tuck the wick tails down and press them into their respective corners, leaving the deck space open between them, including leaving the juice channel exposed. Prime the wicks, and re-assemble.

I have already drilled the holes in the center block to 5/64". Not sure it would be possible to go much larger than this.

I run this build at 30-35 Watts on my T5, currently vaping a 40/60 pg/vg liquid. Great flavor and vapor, and never a dry hit.

Very similar wicking to mine although I run my wick a little thinner and longer. I've built with the coils that way and straight across the screws, can't say performs better either way, although wicking is much easier that way. I run 24 ga, 2 mm coils, 8 wraps, 0.3 ohms. Very happy with the build on it. Haven't made higher ohm coils with it. I'm happy with my builds where they are. I do take a 1 mm flat screw driver and clear the fluid channels from the top once I have it wicked. Never a dry hit doing that, but I don't know that it's even necessary. I rebuilt this morning and forgot pics. I will next time.

Anyone have nasty flavor at the end of a tank? I get some nasty reddish brown liquid when it's time to clean out.

Just wanted to show off my new avatar. Turns out, it's really a pain locating different colored O-rings.

Looks good Papa sir! How's the fit? I have a heck of a time getting the the glass off and I'm only using one o-ring on each end. Broke the glass the first time with the double rings. Enjoy the day!:2cool:

Can you post a bigger pic of that please PapaSloth. Where did you get those colored o-rings anyways?

It's not a great picture because the camera in my tablet is terrible, but here you go:

sw3WFrQ.jpg

I'll try to take a better picture later and post that.

The fit on the O-rings is really good, but is slightly different on the V1 Big Buddhas (serial number less than 1000) and the V2 Big Buddhas. Also, the glass tanks I'm using on the V1 Big Buddhas are home made, and have slightly different inner diameters than the stock tanks (about .4mm more). The three O-ring sizes that are about right for either style of Big Buddha are:

3/4" ID x 7/8" OD x 1/16" CS (size 018)
21mm ID x 24mm OD x 1.5mm CS
13/16 ID x 15/16 OD x 1/16" CS (size 019)

These are roughly in order from looser to tighter. Note that even though the 24mm OD O-ring has a larger OD than the 15/16 OD O-ring, the 1/16" cross section is larger than the 1.5mm cross section, so you end up with a tighter fit on the 15/16 O-ring.

24mm OD is just about perfect for the V2 Big Buddhas, but you have to make sure the O-ring is seating properly in the channel. The size 018 O-ring is a little too loose, and the 019 O-ring is too tight. The 018 O-ring should be perfect for a stock V1 (I haven't tried it though, I've tried it with my homemade replacement tank, and it works but is on the loose side. The 019 O-ring works well with my replacement tank, but is a tad snug. I think the 24mm O-ring will work with the stock tank).

I know, too many numbers :) Bottom line: You want 24mm outer diameter O-rings with 1.5mm cross section. Should work on either style of tank.

I had to order O-rings from various sources to get a range of colors. The dark green ones (they look bluish in the pictures) are size 018 paintball replacement O-rings that I got on ebay. The light orange and light green O-rings are 24mm and are from DX.com. The light green ones supposedly glow in the dark. The dark red/orange O-rings are size 019 and are from Amazon. Note: those will be too tight on the V2 Big Buddha.

Now I have about 90 miscellaneous O-rings :) If anyone buys a pack of a color that I don't have, I'd be happy to swap for some light orange and light green.

In particular, there are fluorosilicone O rings in light blue. I would gladly trade for some of those. Private message me if you want to swap.

I drilled out my airholes in the deck last night, then set my wicks the same way yours is,and i gotta say i really like this attie now.My first wicks i pulled out,i had the tails too thick and they were blocking part of the channels which i think was causing the dry hits. Also the airflow is 100% better now after drilling out those 2 holes.

Did a little machining on the BB today.
I drilled the air holes as wide as they woud go, then opened them a little more with the dremel.
Drilled the insulator to match.
machined out the air chamber under the insulator where it was restricting the flow through the holes.
and since I've had a little feeding trouble with max vg liquids I opened the juice wells just a little bit, very carefully. Very happy with the results, juice feed is perfect now.
the air flow is still a little more restricted than I'd like, but it's very good compared to so many others.
I thought about drilling out the air holes on the body, but the positive block is really the restricting factor here.
I'll put up some pics when I break it down again. I wanted to be sure it worked before I posted them.

Hey Dice!!
How the heck are ya?? I just picked up the Big Buddha today myself! It is a pretty baby for sure! I'm gonna have to try the way you build it the next time! I have a Fogger V4, never had a Kayfun. But the Fogger is a lot like the Buddha but I'm liking my new baby much more!! I do agree it needs a tad bit more air but it is amazing so far! I've got a pretty good collection going since the last time we talked lol!! My daughter says it looks like a vape shop in here!

Am a toothpaste & Brush mod/rba cleaning vaper too.!!:D Polishes, removes grit between teeththreads, easy to reach deep down tubes, heck, dentist even gave me a small pointy one for those hard to get to threads.:D Removers plaqueoxidation build up, and leaves your breathmod/rba's minty fresh clean:D

Yeah, just got back from the lab, mixed 400 ml of Strawberry Blackapple, 400 ml English Blackberry Tobacco, and 300 ml of NY Strawberry ginger cheese cake. The first 2 are relatively new recipe's but were rock solid from conception, so made as much as possible, the cheese cake juice is a new experiment so did a small test batch of 300 ml :D Damn, just over a quart of juice mixed up. Now need to build the Cerberus 26650 tri coil dripper, liking the looks of this one. Very nicely built. Now just have to figure out which mod it can hybrid on.

Oh, and just an fyi, both the Mutant and Tree of Life mods 510 cap, will thread onto the El Gigante.

As for DIY juice, Wizard Labs is my one stop DIY juice and supply shop.:D Orders over $60, I believe, are free shipping. Purchase all my lab ware, base and extracts from them. And now that they are all moved into their new larger facility, don't seem to be out of 100 mg nic base as often.:D

Hey Dice!!
Really 1,100 mil's mixed at once?? You truly amaze me!! I get giddy when I roll out 8-10 30 mil's!! I can't even begin to imagine mixing that much at once lol!! Like everything else I'll probably get there before I know it!! I'm already thinking I need bigger bottles! We may have to talk about this strawberry ginger cheesecake :D I love me some cheesecake!!! I've only been doing DIY since Nov. so I'm still learning, but I've got about 5 recipes I really like...but you know me I want more!! I do truly love this stuff we call vaping...it is tha shiznit!! In April it will be 2 years off stinkies for me!!!:D

I'm quite interested in this bad boy but I don't own a 26650. How would this thing do on an IPV2 or a 18650 tube-type mod?

It should work great on either! I tried it on for S&G on 18650 mech and it dwarfs it lol! I put it on my Sig 100+ and the two of them look marvelous together, and vapes like a dream!!!:D It looks great on my 26650 Manhattan as well! It is just a gorgeous baby!!

Do your wicks look like this:

0wN4ZaS.jpg

Also, never lay your Big Buddha on its side (or any Kayfun-style atty, for that matter). That's one of the major causes of leaking. Always leave it standing upright with both juice channels covered by liquid.

Oh I am so trying this when I break it down for the first time! I just got my BB last night & it's working fine, but I ran one wick thru both coils & just made my ends like yours. But this is what I'm gonna try next for sure! Then I may get a little crazy & try Dice 57's iV4? build...looks really cool too!! I am loving this BB though for real!
Props on your wicking for sure, it looks great! :vapor: :D

Yeah, when first into DIY juice, started at 10 ml & 50 ml batches, then once the recipes proved out, mixed at 100 ml batches. That was over a year ago, now, when I get below 400 ml of mixed juices, I get a little nervous. :D Reminds me more of canning. lmao. Fact do use kerr and ball jars for mixing and storage of juice. now need to can me some peaches or something like that :D

I finally broke down the BB and took some pictures of the work I did on it. I'm confident I didn't ruin it. much better air flow. You can see the little bit of work I did on the juice wells & I think I've got the air holes maxed out. Feeds high vg better. Vapes better. Here's a pic with its little brothers, keeps up very well.
