If they raid my freezer, I'm headed to the Big House! Have enough 100mg NIC to weather the Apocalypse. Just in case the Mayans are on to something lol.

Mine too. I have so much nic in the freezer, there isn't much room for food; and I keep adding to my supply all the time. Every time I use 30 ml, I buy another 100 ml or so.

Well, FWIW, I don't think they'll ban even nic juice entirely, let alone vaporizers, but I am afraid they'll tax it to the same extreme as the analogs. I am not stocking up on nic - I don't have freezer space to be honest. What's in my freezer is mostly home-cooked dog food, and it's taking up the whole thing. I have a big dog. :)

But, if vaping becomes as expensive as smoking, I will probably go back to smoking. To be blunt, I really only quit because, even with all my occasional toy-buying frenzy, smoking in NYS is still more expensive, at about 10 bucks a pack. And those do-it-yourself cigs make me choke and give me migraines.

Theoretically, I am willing to believe that vaping is safer than smoking, but for me it aggravates my asthma more than analogs ever did. With vaping (VG or PG), I use my inhaler three times a day, while with smoking maybe once a day, and that's in allergy season, and a couple of times a week otherwise. That's just fact for me. Every time I start on the PV, I have a coughing fit at first. :( It's gotten better over the years, but not by much.

And I like the taste of smoke, even after years of vaping.

Sorry if I sound like a party-pooper, but it is what it is. I like vaping, don't get me wrong: I like the toys, and the cool looking cartos, and the different flavors - it's a lot of fun. But the main reason I vape, though, is because of money. I smoked for thirty odd years before I went vape, and I will probably get lung cancer no matter what I do now. It's depressing, sure, but it's probably inevitable - either that, or some other breathing-related malfunction will get me in the next 15 years or so.

It would be a really bad thing if they put a kabash via taxation on our good times. It will suck. For many people and for many reasons...

I for one appreciate your honesty Briar :) not a party pooper at all

I would just say keep in mind that asthma as you know is considered a hypsersensitivity reaction to particles that the body wouldn't normally consider allergenic; the problem is your immune system, not any stimulus per se. It could have been vaping, pixie dust, or fairies farts that became your new trigger :)

So don't assume asthma exacerbations = this is some bad stuff (not saying you are, just saying :) ). And lungs can do quite a job at remodeling and healing after smoking cessation, I wouldn't give in just yet!

I think the threat of taxation has gone way down with Lorillard being in the game. They have the financial clout to lobby against it. Since the purpose of taxation is supposed to be to reduce smoking, it will be difficult to justify heavily taxing a product that is proving to do just that.

I also that think that the attempt would only expose the true reason for taxation: revenue, NOT public health.

I too believe that Lorillard's acquisition of Blu has changed the dynamics of the e-Liquid Taxation issue.

Someone once mentioned that "Taxation without Representation is Tyranny". Having a Major Corporate Entity like Lorillard will bring some Representation that is sorely lacking right now to e-Liquid market.

Will this be a Good Thing? I think the Pluses will outweigh the Negatives.

I believe eventual taxation is inevitable, whether BT owns an e cig company or not. BT hasn't ever prevented tobacco taxation. The U.S. Government is scrambling for ways to increase revenue; and "sin taxes" are an easy target. Only about 20% of the population smokes. So the 80% who don't couldn't care less. They're not affected. Lots of people are in favor of raising taxes, as long as it doesn't affect them.
