Don’t know if you guys saw this, but I saw this last night on tv

I thought it was funny, you know being “the first digitally controlled e-cig” and all. So today I did a little research and found thiswebsite
https://vusevapor.com/modules/Security/Landing.aspx

That’s when I noticed the company’s name RJ Reynolds Vapor Company AKA-RJ Reynolds tobacco Company. Has this been going on for a while? This is the first I have seen of it. What do you think this means with the FDA regs coming down?

BTW, don't bother trying them. They taste like burned cabbage, and at 4.8% nic, make you choke.
I use 2.4% ATM, but double that it was just too strong.

Visit the Vuse forum too!

Yep not going to try them, I have a DNA box mod, Provari, and some mechs. I use rda's and kayfuns and love building my own coils. Back in 2009 when I first started this I started with a V4L analog style with a pre filled 808, and never want to go back!

That commercial has been on a few times since football season started. I believe I only see it when watching a game. I have watched quite a few this year so far. It is also a little different.

The first commercial I saw I think it was Blu in a Superbowl add a couple years ago.

Some people like them others don't. I did enjoy my Njoy sample. Nice little kick from it. Too bad it died in under 10 minutes. I can barely taste the stuff on the market as it is. I always gravitate back to unflavored. I had a nice little 3 month period where I could taste the flavors.. They are getting muted again.

WAY too much nic for me and too little vapor. Luckily, I intercepted a buddy of mine who was trying out vaping in lieu of analogs and he was about ready to write it off due to the poor quality of these things. He had gotten one for free and they are not even worth that IMHO. Get on the band wagon Big Tobacco... learn from the people that have been doing this for years. Another bad one is the MarkTen 4 Hole e-cig. They are the people who make Marlboro.

LOL, that Mark Ten is a joke it's like they almost made it bad on purpose. The Njoy disposable is very good but it just doesn't last any real length of time, also the Blu disposable is very good but also has no lasting power, and their rechargeables are just horrible. Since eGo batteries and tanks are starting to show up in big stores hopefully more people will discover there's a much better way to vape instead of these cheapie devices.

Shouldn't come as a surprise.

BT isn't gonna sit on their thumbs while their profits are e-vapor-ating ( pun intended ) .

All that bad press. Wheeling and dealing behind closed doors. Leaning on the FDA. BT lobbyists hard at work. And gubmint sure listens to the gospel RJR version.
Tobacco tax is nothing to scoff at and BP sure takes their cut by treating all these tobacco-related ailments. And BP pay taxes too...
So it's win-win all around. Except for the smokers. For them, it's always loose-loose....

Or rather was. Vaping changed the game.BT doesn't like it one bit and does everything it can to tilt the playing field in their favour.

An old strategem - if you can't kill your enemy , embrace him.

BT knows bloody well that vaporizers are here to stay. So they went shopping. And are protecting their investment by tryin to get their stuff into the market through the back door of regulation :

Nicotine in disposable, non-refillable devices : good. Nicotine in little bottles to inject into pretty much any atty the consumer likes : bad.

Funny. Chemical formula of their nicotine looks just like the chemical formula of any other nicotine on the market...

But I figure that the faint rustle of large denomination bills can alter the perception....

BT sees the future in vaping and wants to control it, and the money involved in it. Smart move on their part, but it totally sucks for the rest of us.
Lots of BS in that minute of advertising. Unfortunately the mod manufacturers don't have the funds to stand up and call them on it.

Can't blame them for wanting to protect their target market and profits but they need to do much better. But don't be scared by their proposed regs they rarely get what they want and I don't think e liquids are going anywhere.

Big tobacco will never get as much as another red cent from me for any product they sell, tobacco free or not.

I wish more of the folks that vape and smoke had my resolve but every vaper that I know is a dual user and they seem to be fine with that.

Can I ask why your so against tobacco?? I'm not being a wise ... here I'm genuinely interested.

I will say it's nice to hear you say that every vaper user you know is also a dual user cause some here will say it's one or the other, which is nonsesnse, every person I know that vapes smokes as well. I can't think of one person I know that only vapes besides forum members of course.

I've been vaping since 7/11/2013, cig free, and never tried a cigalike till today. I was still getting cupons from RJR for Camel products, I just kept tossing them out, then I began getting coupons for Snus, try it free coupons, again I tossed them out. Sat. mail had a try it free coupon for a Vuse, and a pack of cartridges. Curiosity got the best of me so they got cashed in for the free product. The menthol actually tastes a lot like a menthol cig, haven't tried the regular flavor. Yes the vapor production is weak, but at whatever mg level nic is in these, I assume that it needs to be, it feels like a hit from a cigarette. That is, after all, the market I perceive they are going after, current smokers looking to try vaping. I am going to keep the device and cartridges for stealth vaping while traveling, a niche I think it will be good for. Trapped in an airport terminal on a long layover, a few hits from this thing held in, should stave off my nic cravings.

P.S. I couldn't help but keep thinking that the coupons are a market analysis to determine brand loyalty, and if now they are not fishing to see if non redeemed coupons are due to people switching to nicotine harm reduction products...maybe just overthinking that one though.

I do worry that the Ecigs the tobacco people make will have other chemicals added to make them taste better like they did with cigs. You will be stuck with high nicotine levels that can not be adjusted to ever quit totally.

Kind of like Diacetyl and other chemicals some juice makers add for taste...
