First let me preface this by saying this a testimony of my journey, my feelings and experiences. Please don't take offence to any comparisons I may make here, I just wanted to share with you all. P.s. This is very long, so if it's too much for you to read, just know I LOVE my new Grande.

I've been vaping exclusively for almost 2 years now. Ecf was and still is my go-to source of information on new and existing products. There are new things popping up everyday but there are a few that seem to stand out from the pack. There are very few products with the fan base that Reos command. GG, Provape, and maybe Super-T are the only manufacturers that get recommended as much or more. When asked about what the next step a "noob" should take, the all to familiar phrase "just get a ProVari" is never far from following. You hear Reos being suggested, just not as loudly.

I think I first visited the website mid last year (2012). I'll admit at the time I still used eGo's exclusivly so the price point was a huge turn-off. As with the ProVari, the responses were to the tune of "until you hold it in your hand, you just won't understand." So I began my treck into "mod-dom" with a Smoktech Bolt and a Kick, which better fit my price range. I knew eventually I could upgrade from the Bolt, and the Kick could follow along with me. I quickly realized the amount of truth in the old adage, "you get what you pay for" as I was replacing the switch within a month. Luckily there were many threads on ecf which walked me through step by step, but soon enough I was ready to venture further with vaping wanted more out of my pv.

I decided to get verified and joined several co-ops. My Christmas bonus was used up on everything vaping, from diy materials to rba's and a couple of mods, 1 Chinese vv/vw and 1 high-end mech (that will remain nameless). After waiting for a few months I finally recieved the goods, and was none too impressed with the performance of what many tout as their go-to high-end recommendation. Frustrated with what I consider major design flaws of the device I began looking for better options and made a specific list of criteria I wanted in a mod. Solid build, ease of maintinance, warrantied, could take any size battery with or without a Kick, supported here on ECF.

There was only 1 real front-runner (see my sig) and so I put all my unused gear for sale and used that to pre-order what I consider the best tube mode manufactured. I don't consider myself a collector of mods. I want a few quality pieces, so I needed a backup. As I researched my options, my initial criteria took somewhat of a turn. I didn't really want 2 of the same thing, and honestly never gave much thought to anything that wasn't a tube mod.

I'm a dripper, and there happened to be several threads I looked at suggesting bottomfeeders, something tubes can't do. It just started to make sense, like a light went on and I started researching more and more about feeder box mods. Again, there was only 1 front runner, so I set out to own a Reo, and decided on the Grande. Admittedly, the price tag again started to sting, so I searched the classifieds and blems on the site, but it seemed my timing just wasn't right, and by the time I had my funds gathered I had missed out on all the discounted/used mods available.

In the end my impatience got the best of me, and with Father's Day approaching and with my loving wife unable to get me the gift she wanted due to them no longer making them, "just get it new!" was her response to our discussion on the Reo. And so I did.

And after having it just for a day, holding it in my hands, feeling the quality, vaping it throughout the day, after getting it, I "get" it! I'll keep my praises to a minimum, as if you're reading this here you too probably "get" it as well. I can't go as far as to say my humble collection will only ever consist of Reo's mods, but I can say without a doubt I no longer imagine my collection without one. My "concern" now is that my elite tube mod may infact become the back-up to my newest love in my vaping arsenal, my black wrinkle/silver vein Reo Grande!

Well said!!!

I believe you will grow to love it more and more as it proves itself to be as reliable and as awesome as you think. I have now doubt it will (probably already has and you just haven't had time to realize it....) become your #1 mod, and the "other" mod will be relegated to at least second place.....if not "re-homed" through the Classifieds so you can get your second REO. That's my prediction. :)

Lol, after the amount of time i've waited for that thing, no way! I'm keeping it! But that's not to say I don't have more unused rba's I couldn't recycle to aquire another! If I had any complaint about the Grande it would only be that the Panasonic cgr ch's don't fit with a holocron fuse. I guess that's more of a complaint with the batteries, though and not the Grande. I started building my own coils very early and have yet to short one, but a little extra protection never hurts. But honestly, now I just have to figure out what to do with all that extra pocket space!

Welcome again Cjax tube mods have there place I have a couple I built in my early modding days . With the right atty they get the job done . If one has to travel for the day is were reos shine :)

I can tell you my tubes will stay home when I go to work. I'm a carpenter and I need the right "tool" to get the job done. The way these things are built they do more than just that. Plus, I'm clumsy and always knocking stuff off my bench. I love that this doesn't roll away when I set it down!

Many folks, including me, have posted their vaping storybook and their journey ending with the REO. Welcome to the club.. I once said I'd only need one REO... Then I rationalized I needed 2.. One as a backup...then I said why not another... Well, you get the idea.

Your first REO won't be your last. I betcha! It is well-known that Robert mixes obsession and compulsion in every mod he builds....
