I suppose another way to sum up my post is that in my family's eyes, any steps taken off the beaten path is a wrong turn, whereas in my eyes any steps taken off the beaten path is the scenic route!

My wife is out doing the Toy's R us thing, being broke you gotta do what you gotta do! Trying to make things somewhat happen for our son!
Plumes, man I don't know what to tell you! It, really, only gets worse! I'm 44 and the "black sheep" on three sides of the family! Started dating my now wife in '87, been married almost 20yrs now. I wasn't ever good enough for my FIL, no college, no military, no stable career, just useless in his eyes! My wife got fired from her $65kyr job the week before we got married, I've worked anywhere from 40-85hr weeks to make things work! I put her through school to an MBA and went out on my own, made decent money, but never impressed him. I'm pretty sure I've been married to his daughter longer than all of his eight (I think?) marriages combined, my MIL twice! Now he has demensia and needs me a LOT!! I'm not such a bad guy all the sudden!
My wife's brother, heck of a good guy, got married to a nice gal, but her parents are religious wackos! Up to the day they were getting married her parents wouldn't attend, but ended up at the last minute showing up, because according to them it was an "interracial relationship and God would not be pleased about it!" He's half Asian. Somehow they have gotten over that, just to find a new challenge in me! Yes, they need to "Save me from my own sins!" I didn't marry into these people, I'm not their problem, but they sure like to show up for all the get togethers and love to corner me, when no one else is around of course, to preach the teachings of Jesus Christ so I can know the errors of my ways!
Christmas a few years ago, things were BAD between my sister and her husband, really bad! He and I took a road trip to cut some firewood. Bad idea! He had a captive audience for four hours! I got more than an earful of how evil my sister had been. What do you do? I bit my tounge and tried to get home as fast as I could!
WELL!!! My parents cornered me on Christmas eve., did the whole "Spanish inquisition" thing! My wife and I were already in a bad state, I don't want to dump any more on them, I did what I could to get out, no luck! So I tell them. I got the joy of my other sister calling, texting, just flat harrasing me the next three days about what a stupid idiot I was for dumping all this on my parents on Christmas eve, and what was I thinking doing something to hurt my sister and I was just stupid! I just turned my phone off and stayed with a friend for a few days until my parents hunted me down to apologize for the mess, and my sister acting like that!
This probably doesn't make you feel any better, but it could be worse!

You know what, you guys can say what you want about that guy that's been camped out at Best Buy since last Thursday, he's doing it so he can afford to get all his kids nice gifts. I was wrong about this one, actually it's really good. If you get all the samplers and they changed the limit on the 10ml to 4 so ordering all that, you get 130ml at 16.90 shipped. I just did it.
