Hi Folks. Just joined the forum this week and am really grateful for all the incredible technical advice I have been getting. (Thanks Battitude and others.) I have a less technical question here about flavors, but if you hate black licorice, please read no further.

I love black licorice and have just discovered Crazy Rope black licorice (and am negotiating for purchase of a 55 gallon drum). I also have a couple of bottles artificial black licorice flavoring from a major supplier out west that I am OK with but not too crazy about now that I discovered Crazy Rope.

Do any of you other black licorice fans have suggestions for me. I'd like to hear.

Well I love black licorice / anise flavors. Its one of my favorites.

It doesn't matter what flavor one likes - here's a few things to keep in mind.

Our sense of smell & taste improve as we leave smoking cigarettes behind.
We get burned out on overuse of a flavor or vapers tongue.
Flavors can taste very different with different vape equiptment (tanks, coils, wicks, batteries, ohms...)
Flavor of e-liquids will change the older they get.

55 gallons is a huge amount. 2 lifetimes worth. I doubt it would even be wise to vape it - shelf life of the various ingredients.

I recommend you to the forum here on e-liquids. Between shelf life & proper storage issues, you should read up & ask some
experienced DIY'ers.

But flat out with that much of any one flavor - it's very likely for a person to get to the point of hating the flavor.

I just made a 80ml bottle of anise - it's on side table next to me with cap off, "steeping" for the past few days.
I can smell its strong scent very often & have already considered moving it to a kitchen cupboard as I'm a tad
concerned smelling it for so long may burn me out on the flavor before I even get around to vaping it.

I HATE to eat black licorice but LOVE anise flavored vapes!

I have only tried 3 so far. All are made by Smokeless Smoking, their brand 503. Their three anise vapes are Bluebird, Raven and Phoenix. Phoenix is my favorite right now.

Check this thread out for other possible recommendations: Any other juices with the "feel" of Pluid?

How would you describe the taste? I've never tried an anise flavored eliquid, but when I think black licorice, I think Jaeger Meister, Nyquil, Lol. Neither of which I care for. You piqued my interest when you mentioned you don't care for the licorice, but you like the vape...

Happy Halloween by the way!

I vape black licorice every day during my drive to and from work using a Reo Grand with a shorty cartomizer. I've only tried a few licorice flavors - Vape Dudes (50/50, extra flavor), Pluid, and a local mixer. Pluid quickly sickened me - it was cloying, and the local juice seemed too bland. I settled on Vape Dudes as it had a sharper quality to it and true licorice flavor. It's one of my favorite juices.

Just kidding about the 55 gallons, a little exaggeration to describe my enthusiasm, but I liked it enough to buy two more 30 ml bottles at $16.00 each. I'll check out the forum on e-liquids like you suggest to see about trying to replicate expensive flavors. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Ooohhh. LOL I was paying $15.00 for 30mls. There's cheaper & higher prices than that so we're kinda in the middle at $15/16.00.

Many DIY'ers here & it is a big money saver. I'm just getting into it with single flavors.
You just might be able to find a recipe to duplicate the flavor you want.

It can be difficult for people to find flavors they like so I'm very glad you were able to.

Theres a cinnamon I purchase every order so last time I bought a 120ml bottle - not sure if its a bad batch or its because they have different
mixers filling orders or if my tastes have changed, but there's 90mls sitting unused. I don't like it :-(

I have three suggestions for you to research (youtube reviews) and maybe give a try. Next Level Vapors ( Grenada) Drake's Vapes ( Alchemist) and RX Vapors ( Bugatti). I have had all of these at one time or another. They all bring a little something special to the table, but the overall flavor is anise. These will for sure damage plastic tanks.........go glass or dripper. And on a side note these flavors are almost impossible to wash away out of your equipment. You will require a good soaking in vodka and might also have to change o-rings and such.......LOL But with that being said if anise or licorice is a favorite flavor for you, you can't go wrong with any of these three.
