Happens to me every winter, even before I started vaping. Now, if you experience unprovoked nose-bleeds, go see a doctor. Probably best to turn a humidifier on in your bedroom at night. The climate control in your home processes air through a drier, so that could contribute to drying your nasal passages.

Drink water.

I agree with the above advice when in doubt consult your GP. I would also ask are you using PG exclusively? I found when I started vaping my nasal passages got a lot drier, more sensitive and prone to the occasional nose bleed. I read up on this and found that adding VG or getting VG liquids would minimise or help prevent this. It works for me, I use a 70/30 VG/PG mix, I don't suffer with nasal dryness and I don't get nose bleeds either.;)

What they said. The drying effect of the vapor. Water will help. The other thing you might want to try is nose spray. NOT the Afrin/open your nasal passages type, but the straight saline mist type.

What he/she said. If you're using PG based liquid, it could be drying out your nasal passages. Use a saline mist every night before you go to bed and all should be peachy. If it still happens, use the saline mist more often during the day.

I actually had the same thing a day or two last week. Freaked my ish out at first! I have been prone to dry sinuses and nasal passages in the winter my whole adult life, but I've also been a smoker my whole adult life so I didn't really know what to expect this go round...

Drinking water throughout the day (not chugging it all in 3 sittings) helps and I definitely agree with the saline nasal spray.

And of course, if it's not getting better in a day or two, get thee to an MD!

See a doctor just to make sure there isn't anything seriously wrong with you. The climate has been changing quite drastically recently, and I know my allergies have peaked up a lot in the last few months. If there is a lot of blood, then see a doctor asap. Please do not wait. If it's just minor irritation, probably just dried sinuses and everyone covered that in the previous comments.

Used to happen to me all the time when I started vaping. I had no idea what the hell was going on. Then, I realized I was feeling very "dry" all the time, so I bumped up my water intake drastically and Voila, my sinuses started feeling much better. Every now and then I do have to use some plain saline spray for my nose, but hydrating is where it's at.

AhhhHaaaa....You just reminded me. Both of my sisters have recently joined me on the vaping journey. I had forgotten about the occasional nose bleeds. Not enough to be concerned about but there none the less. Just enough to see it on the tissue. I need to let them know that it MIGHT happen. Thanks for the reminder.

I had the same symptoms shortly after I started vaping. Strange that it didn't happen immediately, but rather a couple of months down the road. I switched to 100% VG juice, and started drinking about 64 oz of water each and every day, and the problem went away. Over the first six months or so of vaping various little issues would pop up and make me question what the heck I was doing. All of these issues have long since passed now and I've got about 16 months of vaping experience on my side.

Different juices, even at your perfect PG/VG ratio level, can cause some different issues. As an example, I have asthma, usually fairly mild. About three months into vaping I started having some asthmatic-type issues. I started noticing where, why and when they occurred, and what juices I was using. I experimented with different juices and have found some that I love that cause me zero asthma issues. Whereas other juices can cause an immediate reaction in my breathing. Plain Blend 4 from AVE causes this problem for me. But, the same Blend 4, mixed with other flavors, or even a little bit of menthol, is problem free. Gorilla Juice and Boba's Bounty can sometimes, but not all the time, cause me some problems, so I vape them sparingly, usually for a brief change of flavor to prevent burnout. Peach Hype from AVE and Tennessee Cured from JC cause me zero problems, and they are my primary vapes. I have many other juices that are problem free as well, far more than those that cause problems.

My point in all of this is that you have to find what works for you. If you want this to work, there is probably a way to make it work. There might be some trial and error involved, but if it keeps you from smoking it's worth it. In November 2011, I had three stents put in my heart, my blood pressure was consistently around 150/90, sometimes higher. My blood pressure now is consistently around 118/70. November 2012, I had a complete physical, with nuclear stress test, body scan, x-rays, etc., my numbers were all great, no problems to worry about (other than the colonoscopy coming up at the of them month, my first). And, as a side benefit from all of the water I drink now, my sinuses are better than I can ever remember.

Been vaping for 3 months and am getting blood when I blow my nose, it does seem directly related as when I vape fairly frequently though the evening I then get blood when blowing nose following morning. This can't be good?!
Thanks

I have been experiencing the same thing recently but I have attributed it to a couple factors:

-It is winter time in Chicago which causes low humidity (the humidity level in my apartment gets really low - about 20-30%)
-I have allergies - not terrible but my throat and nose get irritated pretty much everyday
-The blood vessels in my nose have always been very prominent, thus making it easier to get a nosebleed

I have also come to realize that I need to drink A LOT of water when I vape heavily or else I get very dehydrated, which can also cause nose bleeds.

I just did a quick check of the weather in NZ and it looks like the humidity level is low in certain parts, but normal in others. If you are seriously concerned you should consult a doctor but I have a feeling this isn't anything to worry about. Try upping your water intake and make an effort to clean out your nose before you got to bed. That seems to be helping for me, at least.
