Hey Star, I do it every night.
Got my Iphone plugged in one port and my Bloog in the other.
Haven't experienced any problems. But that is directly on the front of the computer and not on a USB hub.

That's pretty much what I do too, on the side of the Mac. It's about all I use it for lately -- pretty pricey charging station.

Was it something I said?
So, if I were building my own charger, what specs am I looking for? In voltage and amperage? I know USB standard is up to 5V, is there any reason I wouldn't want to go higher?

I just haked together a 6 Volt charger, and it's charging a bat, I assume faster than a 5V, but wouldn't 12V be even faster? Surely at some point this reasoning breaks down though...

So anybody know what the ideal charger would be, electrically speaking?

Be careful... Different batteries types charge differently. I don't know which you are using but you may kill your battery hooking it up to a different charger.

Also Star I was talking about a USB device (hub, separate from the PC) that you plug into the walk receptacle. It provides power to USB devices instead of taking the power from the USB port on the PC.
