I just got a shipment in and it has the new AC chargers with a cord plus a separate USB charger. So you no longer have to use the USB portion in order to charge with the AC charger. The battery just screws right into it.

Those are the old Fusion wall chargers. They are raiding the old Fusion stock as necessary to fill orders until the rest of the stock arrives.
Personally, I like those much better than the USB+adapter combo. And I think they are more reliable over time. The USB connector is a weak spot and prone to damage. I haven't really considered changing to that style for our starter kits, not for any particular reason, I just hadn't really thought about it.
What do you guys think? Would you prefer the current two-piece combo, or a wall charger in the kit and the USB charger purchased sperately?
Or maybe we should just get a bunch of those as a seperate accessory?
I like this option - I was looking at the MF chargers today wishing that the USB was available separately. I'd also like to see the AC charger sold separately, it sounds like a sturdier option. I tend to piece things together instead of going for a kit at this point.
Would it be feasible to have it as a kit option?
When you buy the kit, you buy it with one of the three...either an AC charger, USB charger, or a car charger. Then have all three as a separate item a an additional accessory?
I know personally, I have never used the AC charger... Just the USB part.

I just want the USB Charger portion, I do not want the wall adapter. Are you still going to part these out as you said before? Or did the idea never pan out? Example, I want say 10 usb chargers, and can plug them into a custom 10 port usb hub, then I can keep cycling my batteries through rotation. Similar to the 10 port charger that the 510 has.

The current kits have 1 USB screw part - which you need to use the wall wort or the
car charger unit. So you have 2 people, and only 1 USB screw part. If you don't have
everything they need in a one stop shop scenario, chances are they will go to
another website to get the part, and something else they might have bought
from you gets bought from a competitor.
Even if it's only one person who uses the kit, they still have to remember to drag that
USB screw part with them between home and car.
Lots of cell phones, iPods, etc have a usb receptacle, which can be used if you have the
USB screw part, too.

I'd love to see a multi plug in wall charger. Plugs into the wall and will charge 4 batteries overnight at the same time. I'm so afraid of a battery dying on me and I don't always have enough time on the computer to charge all my batteries fully. I don't want any reason to return to analogs. 
What is the current draw of one of these chargers when connected to the USB port on a PC?
I don't know that answer but I know between my I-pod touch, kindle, pcc and Bloog batteries, I'm a bit un-easy charging everything on my laptop. Granted I don't mind charging on my computer at work. LOL But my home computer, eeks I'd rather wall charge it.
Yeah well I saw someone asking about 10 of em on a USB bus... heh heh heh...I remember learning about powered and none powered USB busses. BIG difference. I wouldn't worry about your laptop though... The USB port won't put out more than it should. Of course I like the idea of the USB chargers without the AC adapter. I could buy a few of these and plug them into a powered buss like Amazon.com: Plugable USB 2.0 10 Port Hub (with Power Adapter): Electronics and it wouldn't even need to be plugged into a PC since it has a power adapter.
Technically all the usb ports on todays motherboards are powered Ms. Star, the problem comes down to the power supply and available amps on the 5v rail. That many high amp devices put extra strain on the mb components, and can easily max out the rail.... In the short term your usb ports will stop responding, long term you fry the psu. No difference power wise to usb 2.0/3.0 just transfer speeds...
I prefer the wall charger, it seems to do a better job topping off the batteries here. Plus I do not want to fry my computer. So, yeah just a wall charger without the usb port connector would be great.

Got my Iphone plugged in one port and my Bloog in the other.
Haven't experienced any problems. But that is directly on the front of the computer and not on a USB hub.
