Boge Cartomizers with GREEN Coil

Recently I have run into a number of Boge 306 cartomizers with GREEN coils (the heating element). First it was on a 2.0 Boge 306 cartomizer and so I just set that one aside, but just this last week found TWO 2.8s with GREEN coils.

So, my question is, are these cartos with the GREEN coils dangerous? Is the green material anything that might cause me problems? Anybody know what the green heating element might be?

Haven't come across it myself - I wonder if it's some kind of oxidation?
