Ive been looking at all the tank related post and carto related ones. Smoke tech, boges. It seems about 50/50 when it comes to the opinions on which is best. I purchased 2 tanks; one a phiniac and the other a smoke tech shorty. I got the phiniac on friday and have been having a heck of a time getting it going. I dont want to go into all the details, ( you can look them up on the gen forum and tank forum and ejuice) On the phiniac Ive been using boge 2.0 ohm lr ss. Ive gone thru 3 boxes using various configurations on the holes; 1 hole, 2, 3,4. 2 on bottom, one on top etc. They go dry and burn. I tried slotting them, again, 1 slot 2, 3, 4 in various heights etc. I even combined horizontals with verts. I either flood or get inconsistent flow, eventually drying and burning. Yesterday the smoke tech came in yesterday, it came with a 1.7ohm dual coil carto by smoke tech. I filled it and put a few drips to wick it, did not prefill, popped cap on and it is perfect, from the first draw to hours later, smooth and flawless. I used 80pg/20vg juice. The smoke tech carto only had one tiny hole.
Now what I noticed on some the post regarding smoke techs is that some people who use very thin juice get flooding due to the less dense filler. I dont think it would have been smooth sailing if I had used a thinner juice or the 20pg/80vg juice Im using on the phiniac. Do you think the difference is the 1.7 ohm being dual coil and the boge being 2.0 single coil. Do you think If i used the smoke tech 1.7 dual coil (with extra holes of course) with the thick juice might get the phiniac going? I already purchased 25 boges and have gone thru almost 15 of them tryiing to get it right. I am tempted to go out and purchase some of the smoke techs to try my theory out. If any of you have any experience similar to this or opinions, please let me know, I desperate, and been sleepless with all this going thru my head.
