Boil it

I've heard a lot about resurrecting 510 attys, but for now all I have is an m401. I've killed at least four attys in the last month, though now that I've been refilling the carts properly I haven't lost any (and I've been mostly avoiding excess ejuice in my mouth, thank god). Does anyone know if the same methods will work for these? I've got a bottle of vodka and I'm not sure if I should soak, dip, or just boil in hot water. Not like I've got much to lose, as they're not working right now anyway, but I'd like to try to do something that works for once instead of flailing around with trial and error.

ok will do, lets see if these babies can be resurected from the dead.

another thing...why is it exactly that the device needs to dry before use?
aren't we making it 'wet' with all of our juices and what not?

just curious:confused:

For some reason (?) they don't like to produce much Vapor when they are still damp.

What I do at night is boil them, blow them out, then before I go to bed I put a few drops of liguid on it and let it soak throughout the night.

That's just what I do.

All the atty's I have that quit working remain dead. I have boiled/baked/crest method/ultra sonic/91% alcohol/blowed in em let em dry for days. No help. The resistance on the dead attys reads anywhere from 42-95 ohms. A working atty reads somewhere between 2.8-4.0 ohms. You can do any of the above cleaning methods to a 401 or a 510. Hope you have better luck than me.

Lately I'm trying the blow out and let drain overnight method. So far so good. A dry burn with a manual battery after blowing out. So far this is the best thing I have found to prolong my attys life.

Another reason to clean (for me, anyway) is what I call "creeping muddy flavor."

That is, when I switch to a clean atomizer, the clean-tasting flavor tells me the atomizer I thought was fine was developing a mucky, muddy tone to it.

The vapor production stays the same, clean or not, but the flavor I like is more pronounced and enjoyable on a clean one.

While the alcohol technique for cleaning or applying to a dry atty is unresolved, I too haven't found the crest worked for me. The best result I've ever reached was from taking a small saucepan, boiling 2" of water with attys in the water. As soon as it boils, remove from heat, take barbeque tongs and with each atty, swish it back and forth through the boiled water. Just imagine you are pushing the water from the top (barrel) end of the atty down through the coil area and out through the battery end.

Then I just remove from the bath, let sit on a paper towel until cool, blow out (from barrel end) turn upside down over paper towels for a couple of days, and reprime with a neutral tasting ejuice (marlboro). Use about 5-6 drops to make sure you have it wet enough. I've resurrected one atty I thought was a complete goner (did nothing in the Crest bath), and slightly improved another that was getting hard to draw through.

The alcohol thing sounds risky to me, and without the Crest, there is no aftertaste.

i use the 510 on my silver bullet, im still on my first atty, and its been 2 months. i blow them out at least once a day. at night usually, after i blow all the excess out, i do a dry burn at 5 second intervals untill the atty glows orange, and then a couple more quick burns untill the atty glow orange right away, and i can no longer smell the juice. then i stop. let it cool down. fill cart, 2 drips on the atty, and its good as new. i have never boiled as of yet, but maybe ill try that when my atty dies completely, but so far, this method has kept my first atty alive to this day, and is still going strong.

So i need to clean some atty's, Is boiling them a good way? I have done the CPH, but being new i would like to try this boiling method also. I got 510 atties that are yucky and vape PG/VG juice

Tara

That is my routine, try one for yourself.

Boil a few minutes take it out run under some cool water, blow it out, put it back in the water for a minute, and blow it out again. Let it dry a overnight or a day if you have extras and see how it works for you.

I have a lot of extras 15-20 and not too interested in letting my stock get below that.......just because.

I see people on the site talking about being on there last atty and afraid to use it................don't really want to be in that position if I can prevent it.

Thanks for the input, I really need to clean them because no matter what i did i was get that that "creeping muddy taste" with in minutes, they needed a GOOD cleaning. so we shall see

So here is what i did

Boiled 2inches of water with the Crest pro mouth wash ( my house smells nice now :)
then i let them soak for a hour like that ( had all kinda brown looking yuck in it)
then i rinsed with vodka (The wicks were nice and white)
now thier baking in the oven at at 170
