Bored with my 510

So I've been vaping for over a month. Tried cartridges, tried (boge) cartos but I'm still getting irritated with all the figdeting required. Are there any other options for a a manual 510 battery? Maybe adding a tank, or will that drain my batt? I'm even considering upgrading to another set up. Something that I don't have to charge and refill so often. I've thought about getting a Mega Ego battery and maybe some tanks... Or should I just get an Ego kit and add things from there? I really want to keep vaping, but I find myself slowly slipping back to the analogs... Any suggestions to get over this hump?

What voltage is your battery and what type of cartridge/cartomizer atomizer etc are you using now? Knowing that will help.

It's not the "510" that your having trouble with.. 510 is just a measure of thread size for the connectors. I'm willing to bet your problem is either with not getting enough voltage for a good strong hit or the type of atomizer your using is prone to problems like leaking.

With any good e-cig there is going to be some fiddling, But, you can minimize this by using a a cartomizer with a large inside area like a XL carto or a tank, Plus going to 5 volts ( and matching ohm atomizer/cartomizer) will give you a stronger more satisfying hit. What exactly are you having problems with?

It's a standard manual Joyetech 510 battery... 150mah I think (according to Joyetech's website)? And right now I'm using Boge cartos. I'm still new, so I'm not totally sure about voltage and stuff. My main issue is having to constantly fiddle with it. Whether it's recharging the batt, or adding a couple drops, etc. I'd really like something I can vape on all day without having to mess with it too much. I'd like a carto tank, but don't think I can use it on my current battery without killing it too often.... Which is why I was thinking of getting a mega Ego batt? But then they have Type A-Z which is a bit more confusing for me, so I just want to be sure about what I should get before I order some more things....

You didn't stipulate it as a requirement but, you've been on here since February and you're using a 510. So, I have to wonder whether something resembling a cigarette is a requirement for you.

If you were to move up to something in the eGo class, you'll get a lot more battery life. Those little mini-bats have come a ways but, battery life is still lacking and that's probably not going to change any time soon. A device that takes an 18650 is really going to go a long way between charges.

Unless you really like spending money, filling is necessary. You can reduce the frequency but, you're going to have to go to something that's less like a cigarette to get that too. The Reo will do it. However, a carto tank will too as well as a lot of other things.

One thing you have to keep in mind. The filter cigarettes most of us smoked were over a century in the making. PVs first hit the market in 2003. We've got a lot of development to catch up on.

I was having the same problem, I got tired of always having to fill my cartos to keep a good flavor so I started smoking analogs again... that is until my buddy gave me one of his homemade tanks! Sure, it looks goofy as hell on the little Riva but I can vape sooooo much longer and the flavor stays consistent the entire time. Im going to upgrade to a VV soon but this setup definitely works for now. No more analogs for me!

You could just get eGo or eGo clone batteries, buy then you'll need a charger as well, as the 510 charger wouldn't be much good at charging the larger batteries. Once you get something in the eGo class, you can use low resistance attys and cartos. The 510 stuff, like attys and cartos, that you already have, can be used on the eGo/clone. You might like the eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer, aka EMDCC, as they hold lots of liquid and hit good. Check Liberty-Flights for pricing, and click the discount button at the top of the page.

I've seen some DCTs on the site I might buy from... They seemed like they might come apart easy, but what else is wrong with them? Also, is there a major difference between EGO & EGO-T batteries? Other than the EGO-T having the 5 click on/off feature?

I'm pretty sure the Joye batteries for ego and ego-t are identical...It's the atomizer/tank versus fiberfill cartridge that is different.

Nah, it doesn't have to look like a cigarette. I just want something that can keep me going for a few hours. I'm really looking at some tanks and larger batteries right now... I'm not so sure I'm ready to get into the Reos yet...

The eGO class (Riva, Kgo, epower) will all give you a lot more battery life. I'm a generic bat snob. So, I lke the epower but, any of them will be better than where you are. If you're not interested in a box then for juice feeding, you should be looking at the DCT tanks.

I tried a cheapie bottom-feeder after I got frustrated with constant filling, etc. and was sold on the concept. Once the REO's became available, I had to have one - they are truly industrial-strength. I've been using my first REO Mini and Grand for over 18 months, and have never looked back.

I understand that REOs are not for everyone and thats fine. Many live happy/satisfying vaping lives never owning one. I'm just not one of them :) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/281156-vv-reos-part-iii-20.html#post5752001

I too was disappointed with the cig style setup. I got a SmokTek VariCool ($75 with batteries and charger @ smoktek.com) and 15 dual coil XL cartos ($30 with 2 drip tips @ crystalclearvaping). I love it! XL cartos last almost all day (so I carry a couple with me) and the VariCool is variable voltage, affordable, and the batteries last from morning til night.

If you are more interested in an Ego, check out crystalclearvaping.com for their "Resurrector" cartos, which will perform the best on a lower voltage device and hold a good amount of liquid.

Stay away from cheap tanks (i.e. smoktech)... I would suggest a J-Tank. They won't come apart and spill juice everywhere like the cheapo ones will.
