Dumb question time. Any way to stop the chimneys also coming out of the boro when you unscrew the 510?

Ah... I haven't seen that since the SXK Kanger bridge. With JMK Tips that never happens. Wait, don't buy them, because if you don't like SS tips or the bridge doesn't actually reach the top of the boro, they're useless. But what they do have is no o-ring meeting the bridge. And that is my advice, take the o-ring off of your nut or hybrid drip tip and you are good to go.

I first thought this was a bad idea, but it actually works out well. I never notice the difference besides if anything less condensing behind the boro. And the bridge doesn't pull out of the top.

    Brilliant! Thank you.

    Hello,
Long-time vaper here, I’ve been happy with my RTAs, but from to time I do like to order a new mod, just because (almost all work with 18650s, so batteries aren’t a problem). Today was the first day I’ve read about the Boro system, I just don’t quite get it. I’ve tried to find a good article, but the explanations I’ve found were too simple/short, and read more like advertisements than explanations. Does anybody have a good link? Also, if I wanted to try it out, how much would I have to spend for a decent ‘starter pack’?

Seems like it's still pre-order, at least on Vapesourcing. Wonder when they will actually be available?

TonyB did say it looks like by the end of the year. Gosh, I already have 4 Pulse AIO. And even without a crystal ball I see more coming my way.

    I just found this on 3F -
Please Note: This product will be shipped around December 28, 2023 (ETA, not guaranteed)
So end of year seems to mean pretty much exactly that.

One way to see a boro system (all are based on the original Billet Box) is that they are an enclosed Side by Side.
The combined boro tank with bridge/rba is just an RTA with squared edges. The rest is a single battery mod.
The concept is a combined mod and rta that fits in a pocket - the only protuberance is the drip tip.

No doubt Vandy Vape will be ready with stock. Pretty good marketing dept. Pity Aspire didn't get their s hit together with the Raga AIO. Big release then no stock for months

Well basically because they are simple. Same idea as a mod and a RTA, but rather in an AIO (all-in-one) package. The tanks are generally called a boro (long story there). And like a RTA with a 510 connection, the bottom part also has a connection similar to the 510 pin. The exception is the ground isn't also found there. The ground connection is actually at the top of the boro (tank). Where the drip tip sits.

And like RTAs, boros also comes with rebuildables. Some fit inside almost every boro tank and are typically called a bridge (another long story). The bridge completes the connection from the bottom to the top (ground).

While some rebuildables fit into almost every boro (tank). Some only fit inside of their own special boro style tank. There are stock drop in coils available too for those that doesn't want to build (requires another kind of bridge or a whole other boro package). And rebuildable ones are single coil or single mesh design. Some are designed for MTL and some for RDL/DL. While some can do it all with air inserts.

I don't think there is one place to learn everything. There is just too much and can change daily. It used to be from only one source, from Billet Box Vapor. They are the creators of the boro and the Billet Box design. They were it for about the first 5 years and were hard to get and very expensive. Then the clones moved in and the rest is history.

I just noticed Pigs also had a wonderful and less wordy reply. Well there you go. Two for the price of one. ;)

Oh I believe it will be worth the wait. The only real unknown is the board. Maybe that's the delay. The early board versions were failing and they are trying to get that fixed before the release. If it is something like that, I rather wait.

Aspire are smart if that's what's holding them up. It has the hallmarks of a classic (even in a crowded market) so it would be a pity to rush it out with a dodgy board.

Here's like an ad for the Billet Box back in the early days before the clones in Vape Magazine. I don't remember the date of this issue, but it was before 2016. This is propably revision 3, I believe around 2015.

There are a couple of members here who have Billets from 2011. One of them has a rev 1 that she pre-ordered in the very first batch released. It's still in mint condition. The other bought his a month or two later when they had already moved on to rev 3. Beautiful devices.

Here is what Billet Box Info says...

I guess since January 22, 2022, they are now just Billet Box and no vapor.
