Great looking mod. You stole my original idea!
I have been thinking about making a bottom feeder out of solid surface material. You beat me to it.
-I know a countertop guy and can obtain some scraps to build up.Need help from former MFS (MyFreedomSmokes) customers
Has any found a supplier or company that has tobacco e-juice like or very similar to MFS Turbosmog, Tall Paul, or Red Luck?

-I know a countertop guy and can obtain some scraps to build up.It's a 3" but non-pivot...the 3" inch works well for our mods but the machine has the table size so I'm going to a 4" or even 5" pivot...and a set of parallels.I like your setup. What size vise is that ? I ordered a 3" with a rotating base, I hope it fits my machine as well as yours.

HI All...
Thanks for the compliments
Corian is easy to machine...although boring the 3/4 inch holes did dull up my forstner bit.
It acts just like a dense hardwood and you can use woodworking equipment on it... Table saws with carbide blades, routers, sanders etc. It also taps well.
For those that do not know, Corian is only available in 1/2" thick (nominal) so you have to start with laminating a block together for the body.
The mod vapes well but I am not very happy with the magnets that hold the top on. That didn't go well.
The initial plan was to cement magnets in the top that were proud by about .055. Then sink magnets in the mod that were about .062 recessed. That way the top magnets would act as locater pins. The idea is strong (I think) but after I cemented the magnets in the mod, I wanted to verify that I had the poles right for the top. Long story short the top magnet got sucked into the hole and there was some wet CA in there... and the magnets were proud on the body by .025. This screwed up my entire plan!
I tried to make it work by recessing the top magnets but that didn't work... Clearance issues. So I had to grind all the magnets flush and now the top moves around too much for my liking.
Heres a question... I would like to drill through the top and tap some holes to just screw the top down. But I would have to drill through the magnets on both sides and try to tap them. Is this doable? Anyone have any other ideas??
Thanks for rotating my pics!!
Geo

You can try acetone to dissolve the ca. It softens up pretty easily. Then drill just a small hole in the magnets to pry them out. They might even spin free when you start drilling.
Your original plan is the best. the magnets should act as the keys. You just need to remove that glue and CA is soluble in acetone. I just hope the counter top material isn't.
thanks Quigs... I just might give that a try. If I can drill out the magnets I could replace them with 3/16 dowel pins. Just wonder if the top will stay down tight enough then.
Thanks
Geo

My money is on that magnet breaking apart if you drill into it.
