So, today I admitted to myself that my 18650 batteries were just not going to survive. I've known it a while, but didn't want to fork over the money for new ones until I absolutely had to. Then today, I got almost NO vapor, and decided it was time. I went out in search of a cheap kit to last until my new batteries arrive. I went to 5 different gas stations and drug stores. Two had 21st Century kits... Which tastes worse than analogs, I know from past experience. The other three had only disposables or nothing at all. I was just pulling out of the last parking lot, getting ready to spend $10 on a disposable): when I saw a sign in a smoke shop window, saying "We sell electronic cigarettes!" I pulled in, but didn't expect much. To my VERY pleasant surprise, I first noticed their big glass case FULL of all sorts of e-cigs! Lots of disposables, some decent $60 ones, and a lot of cheap Blue starter kits. They also had this $20 USB starter kit... Which I'm sure is crap, but it's exactly what I needed, and in the right price range! They also had at least 50 different liquid flavors! I am SO ecstatic to have found somewhere I can buy supplies when I have an e-cig emergency!

However, once I got home, I realized I can't find any information about this e-cig... I don't even know who the manufacturer is o.o

Does anyone know anything about this?

All your answers have been very helpful! I'm actually even more impressed with that smoke shop now, seeing that online the exact kit I bought is $15. $20 isn't a bad mark-up at all!
Also, I know they all come from China, but I like knowing more specifically where my stuff is coming from. Like, who I should complain to if it's ridiculously faulty for some reason. Eh, going through a smoke shop, if it just never worked for some reason, he would probably replace it for me. I used to go there regularly when I was still on analogs, and the guy that owns the place is super nice.

I get panicked when I run out of something unexpectedly. I mean, just about a full blown panic attack. I almost think it's sad, I'm just as hooked on vaping as I was on analogs. But at least I'm not ruining my lungs and giving myself and everyone around me cancer with this. I think it's really more the oral habit now, as I've cut down to 6mg of nicotine and am about to order nic-free liquid:) So, I'm really overly excited about the smoke shop. No more panic attacks! Gonna go check out some of the liquid tomorrow:) Yay!

Just want to add here: It IS variable voltage, you click the button a few times to change between 3.2, 3.7, and 4.2
I'm not sure how many ohms the clearomizer that comes in the kit is, so I'm staying at 3.7 for now. Also, for a $20 kit, I'm really impressed! TONS of vapor! It's also pretty nice that you can turn the battery off... I carry my e-cig in my purse, and have burnt a few cartos previously when the button gets pushed on something in my purse. Have also burnt a hole on the liner of my purse D:
I almost forked over the extra $15 to get a Blu starter kit, but am glad I didn't. This is so perfect for a back-up!

Most mods can be shut off (even if it can be a pain to do), what do you normally use?
Ctwists are easier to shut, hit the button 5 times to shut off, 5 times to turn on. And twist the bottom to change the voltage, just take a longer time to charge and don't last as long. It's much easier to just pop in a new 18650 while one of your other 4 is charging :)

Blister packs make a great backup if you can get them from around $20 or less, so you got a good deal. I've got a couple and they've saved my bacon a few times. Totally worth it.

That reminds me of a gag gift I used to see in stores. It was a single cigarette inside a small wooden box with a glass front and a tiny hammer attached with a chain. On the glass was written, "In case of emergency, break glass."

$15-20 for a little variable-voltage kit doesn't seem like a bad deal at all. Of course it's not gonna be top-quality but if it gives you a couple months or more of satisfactory performance, you've got your money's worth.

That is the image I have in my head when I consider my vapocalypse box. That box contains all the devices that I no longer use for one reason or another. Vivi novas, CE4-6, 808 batterys etc. If it still works but I don't use it because I have found something I like better it goes in the vapocalypse box.

Definitely will need a solar battery in there just in case..
