I am using this bat with a DCT on The Bolt ( I know, I can't afford a better tube mod just yet) and I noticed that my dual coil cartos are getting that burnt taste much faster than when I used a regular 18650. The DCC's only last a max of 2 days! I used to get at least 8 or 9 days (sometimes more) of use before with the old 18650! I really like the new hi-drain cause the throat hit stays consistent throughout the day and doesn't lag off like the regular 18650's. I haven't been filling the DCT's any differently. I was under the impression that the hi-drain is the same voltage as the regular 18650. Am I wrong here or is The Bolt the wrong mod to use with these bats?

That is a killer battery. It holds 4.2V off the charger longer than any cheap 18650, or even an AW 18650. DCC's hit their sweet spot at higher voltages, so they should be working great. I'm assuming you're using 1.5ohms? Personally, I wouldn't even bother with them under 4.5 or 5 Volts. You're driving two 3ohm coils there so they shouldn't be getting any hotter than a regular 3ohm carto would, except that there is two of them.

I think they are probably starting to work more like they're supposed to. Your battery voltage isn't sagging like it did with your old battery. Now, you're just vaping faster than the carto is filling. I'd try to enlarge the hole, or punch another one. You're outvaping your juice supply.

Nothing wrong with a Bolt per se. The only thing wrong with it is that it's a clone of the Silver Bullet with a cheap $2 switch that very frequently doesn't do what it's supposed to do. If you get one for $30-35, there's nothing wrong with it. I've seen them sell for close to $65. In that case, it's ridiculous because you can get the Silver bullet for $20 or $25 more.

I got the bolt for $35. I wanted to try a cheaper tube mod first to see if I liked it. And I do! I transitioned from a 510 cause I got tired of refilling the tank or cartidge every 10-15 minutes. And I couldn't use a LR carto cause I had the standard 510 batteries. I've been using LR cartos for awhile now and really like the fuller flavor. Thanks all for your input.

After looking through some threads here, I bought a saddle valve from a hardware store and punched another hole in the carto. Carto started flooding so I punched another hole near the top and now I am a happy camper!

Glad you got the problem fixed. It really has nothing to do with what's holding your battery, Bolt, Bullet or whatever. It just shows you how much better those CGR18650CH batteries are than your standard run-of-the-mill batteries. They're even a big improvement over the hyped AW 18650s.
