Hello, my first post, I'm Monty from L.A.. I may have made a different decision on my purchase if I looked hard or found this forum. Either way...

I can't paste the product page :( due to neewbness...

I picked up the iCig from Smoking Everywhere and this thing has been charging via USB charger for over 12 hours. The light is red (it's blue when the iCig is not attached) and doesn't budge.

I've taken it off the charger and tried pulling through it once but it's not working, the light on the iCig won't light up... so I;m still charging.

Is this normal? The manual says 8 hours, but the manual assumes I'm using a car/wall charger, not this USB one which came with the package.

Thanks for your time!
-Monty

If your computer is not off, but suspended or hibernated (aka sleeping) there's a VERY good chance that it either cut power to the USB port (as it's non-essential from the computer's perspective) or it dramatically limited the amps allowed to be pulled from the USB port. Either way, buy an adapter for your AC outlet with USB inputs... OR... leave your computer running full blast during charging.

The charger light stayed on all night even after the computer sleeps. I just want to make sure this thing works before considering any other accessories for it. Thanks!
Like Tonyrat said, the light can indicate that it sees a power source, but won't indicate that it is drawing enough juice from it to actually charge the battery.

A wall charger is your best bet, or you can turn hibernation off on your computer. That said, the wall charger is going to be much quicker as it is a much higher power source than the USB.

^^^ I've recently heard, thanks.

This thing has now been charging for over 12 hours plugged into the wall charger. The unit does blink 3 times when I reconnect it to the charger, so I guess it's not dead. There is no indication of what 3 blinks mean in the manual. I've read here at the forums to be patient on the first charge, but this is too much suspense. I just want to try vaporing in general.

What quality unit exists that is small (close to the size of a cigarette) and black?

Thanks.

The 510 (Titan, Joye, and a few other models are all the same thing) come in black and are approximately the size of a long analog (if I remember correctly, I haven't seen one in awhile! :D). It is a very popular choice and I am finding it highly reliable after about a 2 week learning curve. It will work from the get-go, but you have to figure out how to fill the carts correctly (the pre-filled ones just didn't cut it for me), what cart filler works best (Pyramid Tea Bags are the best, IMO) and what juices will give you the required throat and/or lung hit.

I have a USB pass through, 3 batteries and 5 atomizers - that set-up is working well for me but I am almost always either at work or at home - if you are out and about more, then more batteries or a PCC might be necessary.

I also have tons of juice that I have mixed to my liking in itty-bitty dropper bottles that I carry with me.

Yesterday I picked up the "tip" to remove the end cap on the cartridges - just stick something pointy into the hole and tilt it outwords, it will pop right out. This eliminates any possibility of having it dislodged while vaping (not highly likely, but it does happen) and choking. It also tends to fill up with moisture if left on.

Well, this was far more information than you asked for... oh well, now you have my opinion and my "tips and tricks" in case you decide to go the way of the 510.

Don't think of using that as vaping.... I had one and it is not representative of true vaping with a quality atomizer and some good juice. Just do like I did and write off that investment as "stupid tax" and spend some time on here learning. Then go get a real system for less than you paid for that crap and start vaping...

Just my 2 cents worth...

So for your 2 cents, what brand would you reccommend?

Good move on both counts. :)

Automatic batteries (like the SE) can and will fire at will based on wind or noise (4081 are sound activated). In 901s, they are suction activated, but have a cutoff to preserve atomizers from getting too hot and switches often get stuck. With manuals, you have to press the button/switch, but they stop both automatic issues.

Cheers Duckies!

Lastly, I got blank filters and juice, can someone point me to a tutorial or explain the correct way to fill these, I don't want to overflow or underflow, plus does it have to sit and soak? Any advice or link would be great.

Fill to where it's moist on top but not bubbled. If you get a bubble sometimes you can 'force' it down - I stick a straight pin around the cart edge and into the filler when that happens.

Here's a good cart modification that works for getting more juice into the cart filler:
