Hey all, last week I decided that I wanted another rta aside from my mtl ones for dl. But unlike the way I used to vape with the fatter coils, lower ohms and massive clouds, I was looking for an rta that I can have about a .6 ohm build with flat wire - 28g at a comfortable 25w and higher level nic.

So I did a quick online search for the top rta's on the market now and came across the dead rabbit rta. I thought I can use flat wire with it even though most use clapton coils for it so I purchased it. When I finally got it I put the flat wire in it and then saw that it was absolutely rediculous trying to vape the tank that way. For old times sake I took out my 24g ss wire and made dual contact coils with 10 wraps and turned up the wattage and filled up the tank using lower level nic. I took about 15 puffs and realized that I made a bad purchase and will not return to this rta so I called up my buddy and told him I have a great new rta for him.

What I was looking for was an rta that I can make a dual coil with flat wire only, particularly 28g and use at 25w comfortably with higher nic. I don't care about clouds. I enjoy using higher nic to get my fill after just a few puffs for on the go. As far as mtl I do love my Berserker 24mm but I'm looking for an rta for dl at lower wattage too. Quality control is a must, being that I don't want to strip the post screws to easily. If someone can please recommend an rta for what I'm looking for it would be much appreciated. Thank you:)

U might want to try the Core RTA or even the Aqua Master might fit the bill. I actually use my Manta for that purpose but since it looking for something newer..? I have both the Core & the Aqua Master and both have a post design good for reg, flat or Clapton wires. Better yet.. the Engine V2 might be a good candidate as well, since it's kinda small, slightly restricted airflow & excellent for flat or round wire, the deck isn't that big though. Might wanna try 30g wire[emoji848] That's my weapon of choice when I'm reaching for high ohms. Good Luck !!

If you want to use flat wire only, look for something with a clamp system. Just easier to work with. Off the top of my head I'd look at the Stacked which both can accommodate a dual coil build with clamp posts.

Edit I don't think the Blitz will work for a dual. Updated.

Hopefully others with ideas

Edit two. Actually you could use the Blitz also just not sure how the flat wire will work the the airflow design. May block it too much

Might want to look at some older rtas like the Smoant Battlstar rta for example. I personally would consider a single coil rta.
If I'm going to go the single coil route which kinda makes a lot of sense, which rta's would you recommend? I would want to use 24g ss wire about 8-10 wraps so the ohms would be about .5-.6 and at about 25w.

I think you could get a Serpent SMM for cheap. Works better at the lower wattage range (30-60, rather than the 60-80 you hit with a lot of the new ones).

I don't use your type of builds but I do think the OBS Crius 2 single coil would suit your needs very well. Bottom af, pretty forgiving if you don't comb the tails much. Flavor is very good and the af is pretty versatile.

Have you tried that build before? 8 to 10 wraps of 24g? Seems like a lot of mass at only 25 watts. Maybe you enjoy a very slow coil like that, so I really cannot comment, but imo, it would take that a while to get going. I vape at close wattages, around 23 watts and use 6 wraps of 26g. Perhaps that's just your style, kind of very slow draws with depressing fire button for a much longer period.

I have not tried that build on a single coil tank before but now thinking about it doesn't make sense for that many wraps for like what you said.

No reason why you can't build flat coils on the dead rabbit. It's very similar to the Drop RDA.

Use a larger ID and more wraps to get higher resistance and shut down the air flow.

You can try it and part of the fun about rebuilding but I think that build would be better in the 35 to 45 range. At 25 watts 24g might be a tad thick unless you go lower in resistance, like 5 to 6 wraps, but everyone has different preferences. Good luck

I noticed a trend with me lately. As soon as I find something works for me I seem to want another thing, another rta or mod. In that mindframe it's so easy for me to forget the setups that I'm happy with and look for other things. What I need to is to learn how to be happy with what works for me. I just got a new Jac and Berserker so what went wrong? Needing something new etc. Maybe I'll order a few more Berserkers to stock up.

I second the Serpent SMM. I have not used it with flat wire but I think the deck style would be perfect for it.
