Box Mod Problem

Ive been having problems with a box mod I own. Worked great for a month or two then:

I can take a drag and get nice vapor and throat hit. Second drag.........nothing.

I have no idea whats wrong. Changed batteries, atomizers, and I dont know where to go from there. Everything is clean.

Can anybody relate or know whats wrong?

What kind of batteries is it using?

wiscguy -- have you taken a multimeter to it? Sounds like the switch (whatever it may be you are using) is starting to fail.

Normally, when I start to see a switch fail, it will be VERY intermittent, kind of like what you are experiencing.

Not to be redundant, but yes, I've found that when dealing with an intermittent electrical issue, the switch is the first place to start checking.

This has happened to me quite a few times on the first passthroughs I made with cheap switches, and replacing the switch will indeed fix your problem. Timeframe seems about right as well.

Diff problem but can anyone help me out there?

I had made a nico stick with no problems. So I decided to make a
pass through in the same design. My connector from the salvaged pass through
is testing 5.1 volts and another from radio shack is also testing 5.1 V but no fire to atomizer. Tried 3 diff atomizers.

Hooked it up to a 14500 batt and works fine. Do 901 atomizers not work with 5 volts?
Any clue to help would be very appreciated!

sounds like whatever you plugged your homemade PT into doesnt have enough "oomph" to fire the atty, From what is known, you almost need at least 1000 mah to get anything from your atty

Yeah I would say it sounds like a dreaded intermittent electrical issue. Could be a simple matter of a bad connection or solder job easily fixed.

Thanks for your reply Shreck and Snarkone. I`m using a Coby 1000 mah wall adapter that I`ve used for the last 2 months and using it now on my bought backup PT. I`m wiring straight from the usb cord to the connector that the atomizer screws into to test before wiring the switch. I`ll try to test the wall adapter anyway.

As mentioned I`m getting 5 Volts when wired but just a glimpse of smoke every now and then. I resoldered several times and still nothing. Seems strange that using the same connector with the the same wire soldered in place works when I replace the the usb cord and touch directly to my battery.

I saw something a while back about the center connection for the atty possibly being down too far. You might try raising that center part of the connector on the PT slightly. just a thought.
