Okay, so I'm fairly new to vaping, I have a Smoktech dialed battery, 3.2-4.8v and I had been using the standard clearomizer that came with it. I liked it, but I wanted more so I decided to upgrade and went in to my local vapor store and picked up an Aspire bdc. It's a nice store, the workers know their stuff, and he said it's a great tank and he uses one similar to it blah blah blah. What I'm trying to say is these guys wouldn't fix me up with some wonky equipment.

Anyway, I got that and some juice and he filled it for me and primed it and let me take a hit from one of their batteries (since I didn't have mine on me) to make sure everything worked. Good vapor, good flavor, awesome. Then I take it home, attach it to my battery, and bam. I get the worst burnt taste imaginable and basically a big puff of smoke. I tried different voltages and everything. I know the coil is built for 3-5v so I should be fine there, so does anyone know what the problem might be and how I can fix it? I'm sure I could take it in and they could help me but I'd like to do things myself if I can. Could the coil have just instantly gone bad and I should get a new one? Should I try a different battery (my backup is an ego twist)? Could the juice be affecting it as it's really dark and a little thick? Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated.

I think it's the coils themselves. Not wicking fast enough and properly. I too have had this issue with mine. Now I pretty much stick to my kayfuns. I get no leaking, gurgling, or nasty dry hits. Also the coils last a lot longer then store bought coils. I got tired of the inconsistenty of the pre made coils and tank problems so I learned to rebuild my own. One of the best things I've done. Kayfun gives a exceptional flavor and thick dense vapor! I just couldn't see spending any more on tanks that don't work well and coils that burn out so quickly. It was s uprisingly easy to learn and if rebuilding your own might intrest you I'm sure your local vape shop would be more than happy to help teach you. I basically learned on my own. With the help of you tube. But it might be another option you might want to think about. I know building isn't for everyone, but if your willing to learn I think you won't be disappointed. Hope this helps a bit.

yea I was watching the day tripper's video on the aspire bdc and he said he got about a 40% success rate on the coils. that they are just poorly made. I had 3 of those tanks and recently traded them to someone that works at the vape store due to the quality of the coils. I have to agree with Realsis on this. the kayfun is a better built product by far. of course you have to learn how to build a coil but it really isn't that hard. best advice would be to go get a better tank, maybe a Kanger pro tank with the airflow or aeromega. there is a video on taking that coil apart and rebuilding it. but it is a dual coil and is probably twice as hard to get right over a kayfun. don't stop wight he questions tho. and don't let this aggravate you. I usually come here and read and ask questions before purchasing anything new. just to save money and buy quality products. even buying clone kayfun is ok. as long as you get the right one. lol
