That's hard to predict. The ultimate choice may depend upon how much freedom you desire to have in being able to adjust your vaping experience. A pod kit will have limitations that an eGo or mod setup will not have.

Some noobs might find a pod kit to be easier and more convenient to start vaping on innitially. They are often designed to be plug & play easy to use right out of the box. With many, you simply replace a spent (empty) e-liquid pod with another and are good to go to continue vaping. However, that convenience factor comes with a price. Many of the pod setups are "closed" systems, which means they have a limited choice of flavors available and which prohibit the user from using other manufactured, commercially available e-liquids on the market. Pods systems are often more expensive to use in the long run because of their proprietary design. They have but one "fixed" power output which may or may not be important to the user.

Ego setups offer more versatility, and mod setups offer even more versatility. Longer battery life between charges, larger capacity tanks, ability to adjust the power output "on the fly" (variable wattage), built-in voltage and resistance meters, etc. These are all "open" systems allowing you to choose the flavor, nic content, Pg/vg ratio of any commercially available e-liquid.

Regardless of which device you choose for your first setup, odds are that you'll eventually end up with more than one. We don't know what we will "like" until we try one, two, or more different setups. One always needs a backup setup, too.

Take an hour or so and read this blog on vaping devices for a beginner vaper. Should you have further questions, feel free to ask.

Welcome to ECF you are asking a perfectly valid question that is almost entirely subjective, so I am just going to give my 2 cents on the topic, which is that (for me) I really had to try several types of vaping to really figure out what I needed. By default (my kiddo gifted me a setup) I started with a box mod and a pretty sub0hm tank, and hated it and gave myself nic overload. I was directed to mouth to lung (or ego I guess one could call it) setups where I had less need for wattage and a higher nicotine level juice and a more cigarette like draw, and that was what *I* needed.

Although pods are getting more flexible and I think they can be great for flavor, they are also not as customizable as a wattage adjustable vape, and can be more expensive to maintain and run although often times great for flavor and I do think there are lots of advancements being made.

I usually say to a brand new vaper to TRY both types (if they can afford it) and get a relatively inexpensive box mod or kit, then buy whatever type of tank DIDN'T come with the kit, and usually it will be a sub0hm kit if it's a box mod although not ALWAYS. So, let's say you wind up buying an Eleaf invoke kit, you will have a 2 battery mod and a rather sub0hm tank. If you love it, yay, proceed as planned, if the vapor is overwhelming or whatever (and really I'm just saying Eleaf invoke kit today as there is another thread on it so it came to mind). But , BUY a boxmod, sub0hm kit of your choosing and a cheap but still functional mouth to lung atomizer as well. Provided your box mod will adjust low enough for a MTL topper, (and they for the most part do) the worst thing that will happen is you'll get fantastic battery life.

The zenith is a MTL atomizer that's getting great press at the moment, and it really is good. The tank can be purchased entirely separately from your mod (really both tanks can) but I do recommend doing that if you can afford it, as worst case even if you absolutely loathe one tank, you'll have a backup tank, or a tank for stealth occasions or whatever..

But figuring out which one YOU will like? I have absolutely no clue, and I'd say vapers fall anywhere and everywhere on the spectrum of TYPE of vape.

Best of luck,,

Anna

All good advice, very objective, but let me give you a subjective one. If you troubled to register to ECF and ask this question, I'd say you'll be happier with box/eGo. As others said its more flexible, which some people prefer, and I guess its you :) As I said, because you registered here :) I see fixed proprietary pods for people that just ask a few friends, see it somewhere and just buy it in the first store without much investigation. They ask a sales guy how to use it and thats it.

That said, no matter what you choose, advice I give to every mew vaper is to be prepared to test and play with hundreds of options and vaping styles. Simply don't expect yoir first setup will last long before you try something else and find something that is really a sweetspot for you.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome,
How long have you been smoking and how many cigarettes do you smoke per day?
What is your budget?
Do you have a vape shop close to you?
Where are you located?

Cheers

About 10 cigarettes per day. Hope it won't more than $80 per /month when vaping. Thanks in advance.

hello again.

I've found 2 amazing vaping deals in the past days.
First is a 3 in 1 Mod kit. It's a AIO box mod kit, but also compatible with normal atomizer, even the Pod. Only $19.99

The second is a Pod Kit from Limitless & PLY Rock, $12.99

Which one is better for a beginner like me?

Thanks in advance.
I would choose fastech as a vendor over URvapin.
The FastTech Thread for All FastTech Posts (Part 2)
Unless you live in SG. Then it doesn't matter.

Cheers

I prefer Fasttech over most China based vendors, they are slow but rather reliable and tend to have good pricing. I have used others on occasion, but I'd say the majority from Fasttech. Pay the extra 17 cents or whatever it is for shipping, and still be prepared to wait though. Like a month sometimes.

If you want something quicker it's sometimes best to spend a little more with a US based vendor although that is totally up to you. Etc.
