Evening all! I've been making my own e juice for about 6 months now. I started out with a starter kit that included some nic (48mg) PG and VG with some flavors. I use a Tornado rta with 6mg nic and the vape was amazing! Now that I've ran out of Nicotine solution I've bought some more, but at a lower level so I can dilute with less VG (running lower on that). I bought a liter of 18mg 100% VG nicotine. I make my juice in 30ml batches. With 5% flavor. 75/25 ratio with VG being the 75% That comes to 10ml of the nicotine solution for the same 6mg I'm used to, but this time around the vape is harsh as all hell. I've read that the once the nicotine ages and degrades it gets much much more harsh, but this stuff should be new.. it's still practically clear. Is it possible that my nicotine is bad? Or that maybe somehow even though it's labeled as 18mg nicotine it's actually higher?

EDIT: I want to add that I've already determined that the nicotine is the culprit. I mixed a 0 nic batch and no harshness at all

Are you using a different flavoring with the new nicotine? With some flavoring you will feel a much stronger throat hit than other flavorings, at the same nicotine strength. I know you mixed a batch of 0 nic, but the thing is, you don't get that nic specific throat hit without the nic. If a flavoring in your mix is letting more throat hit through than a previous flavoring, you're not going to get that same effect with a 0 nic blend.

I've found that as a general rule, acidic/sour fruity/candy flavores give a very strong throat hit, and super sweet, creamy, or desert flavories really mellow out the throat hit.

FlogtheBog,Welcome and glad you joined. This is such a broad question, it's near impossible to tell whats causing this with the info you have supplied. Suggest you eliminate the 3 basic categories in turn, then narrow down and re post that which can be eliminated:
Is it you? feel good, other peoples impressions etc..
Is it the equipment your using and how your using that has changed?
Is it the vendor mixture or how you are using it.
