The batteries are battery vape 18650 BVIR-MY.
Never heard of these batteries, so I googled them. Battery Vape

40 amp pulse rating, 15 amp continuous rating, 3500mah battery? I don't think so. Those specs are impossible. Battery Basics for Mods: The Definative Battery Guide for Vaping
Apparently, Battery Vape has several 18650 models. I couldn't find the BVIR-MY model on the website.

Battery Mooch hasn't bench-tested these batteries, so there's no way to know what their true specifications are:
My best guess is the batteries you have are a "re-wrap" brand. Re-wrap batteries use an unknown cell made by an unknown manufacturer and are of unknown quality. The company simply buys cheap cells and puts their own battery wrap with their logo on the battery. These re-wrap brands frequently use poor quality cells and over-rate the battery specifications. You need better batteries. What country do you live in? Can you order online from the USA or UK?

When on charge it makes a high pitch noise.
Are you charging them in the mod via USB, or using a Li-ion battery charger? Regardless, you should not hear a high pitch noise either way.

Batteries should be charged in an external Li-ion battery charger of a reputable brand, such as Xtar, Efest, or Nitecore. Guide to Choosing a Li-ion Battery Charger

SMOK brand mods don't have the best reputation for quality control. It's quite possible that you got a dud.

should I give smok one more chance

Cheers for the response. I'm based in New Zealand mate so will take it back to the shop today and exchange this for a totally different brand. Will go external for the batteries because I just don't my research on the shop and they are notorious for selling average (sh*t) batteries.
Good luck.

Take care when choosing batteries. Not sure how available the better batteries are in New Zealand. Batteries made by Lg, Samsung, Sony, and Molicel are preferred.

One quick question.

What's the best mod brand to look for?
