Brass Magneto

So I wasn't exactly thrilled with the voltage drop on my Magneto, and lo and behold Triangle vape has now released an All Brass Version and Brass/SS version of the Magneto.

That's a cool looking mod. Pardon my ignorance, but that's a mechanical mod, right? I mean it wouldn't work, at least not properly, with my AW IMR 18650 batteries.

@wrath, AW batts will work fine with mechs. Unless you run super low resistance coils on them beyond their amp limit.

@wrath186, It's telescoping, so most 18xxx batteries will fit.

AWs are broadly considered to be the best batteries for mech usage, actually. They just shouldn't be used at superlow resistances. For those you want something with a higher C rating for greater discharge.

I run my AW IMR 18650 1600 maH on an IGO-W dual coil parallel resistance metered out about 0.7-0.8 ohms on my fluke meter. I only have mechs at this point and the brass version of the magneto will probably blow my stainless version out the water. Wish I would have known about it before ordering my magneto, oh well.

The AW IMR 18650 1600MAH(not the 2000mah) is a wonderful battery for use in a mechanical, and is well suited to handle pretty much whatever subohm vaping you want to do. I believe .2ohm breaches the batteries 24amp capacity, so within most peoples use, its more then plenty of battery. The 2000mah version is totally different wrt amp draw. Acutally any of the AW IMR sizes are good. Even the little 18350 can do a bit of sub-ohming. Just know what your battery can do and what your coil is doing, use some brain power, and dont push the safety limit.


As for the actual topic:

That is one sexy mod. Ive been eyeing the Magneto ever since it came out because of the magnetic switch and the fact that, IMO, its not really a clone of anything, its really its own mod. I dont agree with the Nzonic clone comparison, but, to each thier own. I think its one sharp looking mod, especially in 18350 mode, and with a flush mounted genesis..ooo.. sexy sexy.


Know what would be cool?

Buy a brass one and SS one, and mix/match. Do a brass body with SS switch and cap, and then a SS body with brass switch and cap. Now THAT would be cool.

I think my resolve is just about gone on ordering one of these. The above idea about mixing up a brass and SS may have pushed me over the edge.
