Is it possible to get a RM2 without a squonk hole?

You can buy the un-robbified version but it's not worth it (IMO). I bought one so I could play around with the cap without ruining a good RM2. The atty itself is a very poor performer out of the box and mine arrived with a poorly installed center pin. The difference between the two is pretty amazing. The fact that Rob can transform it into the RM2 is pretty amazing too.

Description on website says it is SS. Is that so? RM2 is Chrome plated brass.

I can't find it on the website? Do I just email through my order then?

Send Robert, redeyedancer, a PM, here on ECF with request. If you need the base milled down for Mini 1.0 be sure to specify. I get all my bases milled down for Mini 1.0 so they'll be interchangeable with all metal REOs. I have several Mini 1.0 and 2.0 that I use a lot. Mini 2.1, 18490 battery, has well large enough for unaltered RM2 but one can never be sure that a Mini 1.0 won't be part of "arsenal."

Oh, I should have clarified. I want one of Rob's complete with ceramic cup just without the hole.

edit: ok, after viewing the one at that site.....nevermind.:)

Would putting it on a drill and sanding it down with say, 1500 grid sandpaper do the trick?

I'm not sure if I would, but copper and the orange door I have coming in might look pretty nice together. Maybe I'll grab one of those Triangle attys just to have a spare cap.

Edit: Or maybe I'll just save my $10 + shipping and use it towards one from Reo himself. Never hurts to have a spare atty :p

I am wondering what an old brass rm2 looks like. I always see shiny new ones in pictures.
Could someone post a pic?
Thanks!

Well if it's copper like someone said earlier rather than brass, it should have green oxidation on it, right? That'd actually be a pretty sick look. It reminds me of work by a glassblower named Snic that electroplated his creations with copper and rusted them to achieve a really unique look, as if metal had melted and set over the piece.

Oh, fine! Twist my arm...

Or do you mean an old brass RM2 as opposed to a new brass RM2? I have a couple with a nice patina that I'll be posting pics of this weekend.

In the meantime...

Yes, that's how I did it. But I'd much prefer you paid Rob the $53.:D
