brick and mortar suppliers?

going through the forums for the past couple of days and noticed that pretty much everyone seems to be getting their vaping supplies though online vendors and suppliers.
i remember seeing a news clip on youtube pertaining to a e-cig only store opening up in florida. i know the pv market is a small market compared to others so having a store that only deals with e cigs and supplies is a big deal. but do head shops in your area carry vaping supplies?
i ask because i recently walked into two of my local "smoke shops" this past weekend looking for cartomizers and on both occasions was given a puzzled look by the clerk.

I've notised this too. I've seen e-cigs in gas stations and convenience stores around but they were around $15 and I'm guessing they didn't last long so were outrageously expensive.

It could be that the e-cigs industry is really a niche market/subculture served by numerous small entrepreneurs and that the net is simply the easiest most cost effective channel to market through. Still, it would be interesting to have a storefront selling them.

I guess juicyvapor just opened a walk in store, near my house in Buffalo! Bout to check it out, sometime later this week! I will post n let ECF users, know what it's all about! I agree with you though. Online shopping is great and all, but it would be better for the vaping community as a whole, for there to be more walk in stores. Who knows, maybe even eventually the vapors equivalent of Baskin Robbins, Sample any flavor before you make a purchase. Guess we can dream.

I buy everything from my local place. Actually, it might be the one you saw the video about. It's called Smokin' Vapor in Panama City Beach, Florida.

It's exclusively PV, not a head shop or a smoke shop that also has vape stuff. They have a great selection of juice, and they're starting something really cool... They'll be doing custom flavor mixing so people can create their own 'private blend' sort of thing. Similar to what Dunhill (London, England) did for years. Awesome idea IMO!

If anybody is going to be in the area, it's worth it to stop in and sample a few flavors - and take home a bottle or two of your favorites. :)

I think a few of the head shops in the area dabble a bit - but nothing worth mentioning.

Guess I'm living the dream here! :p

Awe, lucky you are man! I havnt been out to the new local shop yet, but now that you tell me, you can sample at your local shop, it gives me hope that they allow sampling at our new local juicyvapor store. Thanks for the heads up. And try before you buy? Hell yea man, ur living the dream!

Be careful tho - it can be a double-edged sword. Sitting there at the computer ordering, it's easier to say "Oh and I'll try this one next time".

But when you've tasted it, and it was good... real good... well.... I just try to remind myself - I can always come back and get it later. I think if I keep doing that, I may actually resist a purchase one day. OK, probably not.

Yea, I could definately see how it would be way easy to spend a ton of cash at the actual store. If I tasted ten, and I loved all ten, then it would be impossible to maybe only buy four or five! I'd want them all. So maby try before you buy, is, as you said, a double edged sword. Great way to put it in perspective man!

Sampling flavors is one benefit that a walk-in store could provide, but I think a little how-to on the equipment could go a long way as well. People who have done a little research on sites like this begin to have a good idea of what to expect when buying their first electronic cigarette, but it's likely that most people don't. The head shops and retail stores that I've seen carry mostly poor and/or overpriced units, so customers are still not getting any idea of the true potential of e-cigs.

If a good store could show a prospective vapor a good e-cig, explain how it works, a few tips and tricks and allow them to give it a try, that would go a long way. For now, users are typically getting better quality products at lower prices and more information by buying online. It would be nice to see that change.
