I am interested in rebuilding a ce5. I wanted to know if anyone knows the types of stores that carry what I need for a coil and wick. Any tips on what to look for and what to stay away from would be helpful. At this time I can see how they work from a blown coil head I disassembled and a youtube video I watched.

Oh yeah, tips on the actual winding process? How to know how many wraps and how tight to wind?

i have never found kanthal in a store only online. cotton is readily available and wicks great just get 100% cotton and boil it a couple of times before use to remove impurities. Get a multimeter you're going to need it to check your resistance. and i won't go into coil wrapping because all the info you could need is easily found throughout this forum.

Good Luck. :)

I was just trying to get the bare minimum to test rebuild before ordering online. I was able to do enough for that but not get one working since I don't have any wire with high enough resistance. Best I could do was use a strand of speaker wire, wrapped it around some stretched and rolled cotton. Of course this read as a short with my eGo but my multimeter showed I was getting .2 ohm, which I didn't expect even that much resistance. I believe I can do this now. Thanks Mike, just the mention of kanthal was enough to point me in the right direction.
