Hey Everyone,
I have a question regarding bridge-less atty's. I've only been using bridge-less ones for a short time, I don't know if there's much difference flavour wise versus a normal bridged atty but I do prefer bridge-less.
I use an ultrasonic cleaner for all my atty's, clero's, etc. first one 8 minute cycle, and then a short 3 minute cycle. I just got a new one that also heats the water to 65˚C (149˚F) for extra cleaning. I was worried that the heat would mess up the plastic on my Stardusts, but so far they seem to be handling the heat just fine.
Anyway, back to my point. I just cleaned some normal and two (practically new) bridge-less atty's this way, I blew out the excess water and let them dry for a few hours. I just went through them all and gave them a quick dry burn with no problems from my regular 510 atty's (except one of them, which I think was really old, had it's black finish removed leaving an all silver atty). However, one of the bridge-less atty's died as soon as I triggered the button. The other took AGES to start glowing using a dry burn. But eventually it did and it works fine, the ultrasonic really cleaned the bugger well.
Now, finally to my question(s) is, are bridge-less atty's more "fragile" than normal ones? Do they typically last as long? Could I have damaged it with the ultrasonic?
Thanks!
