Is a bridge even needed or beneficial in any way on a bottomfeeder?

Been using a 'bridgeless' atty on my BF mod for a few weeks now... works great. I can't really see the benefit of using a bridged atty on this, if i'm not top dripping. It may even burn out faster because the bridge is not really getting as wet when feeding from the bottom.

Any opinions on this?

I doubt you need one on a BF mod. It probably doesn't hurt either. I've used both. I don't think the bridge really dries up since it would absorb any excess liquid, and may even give you longer between having to fed the mod. Even if it didn't, as long as the wick inside the coil stays wet, the bridge doesn't make a difference.
