I can't believe this...I accidentally pulled out the center battery post in the collector tank. Of course when you do that you need to put the O-rings back on the center battery post which is impossible unless you remove the octogonal UFS center post nut which is screwed into the UFS.

Well when trying to get out the octagonal center pin I messed up the threads of the Battery post plastic stop. I also snapped one of the 2 x 1 o rings that go on the collector tank battery post. Now the octagonal Center post nut will not tighten rendering my UFS basically useless.

Seriously I'm not sure I can do this. What do I do?

Thanks so much mosh. I have no problem getting a pack of o-rings from COV. I successfully got the plastic piece with the octogonal screw and center battery post out of my GGTS collector tank. Question is can I put the one from my GGTS into my UFS? The battery post is a little shorter than the original that comes with the UFS. Would it be okay to swap them???

Can you use the UFS post with the GGTS CT plastic connector piece? They may be the same, but one just longer.

I think so, jinoo posted the following regarding this a few days back....

I made the same mistake and had the same problem yesterday. It was almost impossible for me to unscrew it by using just hands. So here is what I did:

Just like what Wylie said, cover the black plastic screw with handkerchief (so you won't damage the screw) and hold the covered thread with a plier. Then unscrew the polygonal screw by using a wrench.

This was what I've done yesterday and I was able to unscrew it easily without damaging any of the screws. Try it and you'll be also able to unscrew it within a second!! I'm 99% sure that you won't damage the screw!!!

I dont have a ufs but on my ggts the octagonal nut does not screw down flush, it is probably a 1/16 or 1/8th away from being flush. I am not a battery expert but I think as long as you dry the battery off it will be ok but leaving it wet for an extended amount of time may cause it to discharge too quickly but someone else may have a better answer.
